Essential Responsibilities
As the Wind Hub Manager at Fire Island, Alaska you will:
People LeadershipProvide leadership to support multi-site service hub- Initiate and support staffing requirements, coaching, training, and corrective action concerning employees and contracted partners; and succession planning.Own the safety culture within the hub- inclusive of contracted partners and customers.Execute daily Plan of the Day calls – prioritize and manage dispatch schedule.Customer Point of Contact Customer focused approach to build long term relationships with customers to deliver business objectives and meet contractual requirements.Partner with CPM | Customer Performance Manager Escalate customer concerns with priorityPartner with cross-functional teams like Sales, Commercial Operations, Sourcing, Finance, HR to meet the deliverables.Turbine Return to ServicePrioritize turbine performance to meet/exceed performance commitments.Multi-site leadershipBe innovative and engaged in all areas of facility operations aligned with individual site plans to include creative problem solving with LEAN thinking.Lead operations within multi-site service hub ensuring weekly visits to each site;Drive safety focusContinue to grow customer relationshipTeam engagement and developmentRequired Qualifications
High School Diploma/or GED Minimum 5 years relevant experience inclusive of leadership,And 3 years experience in a field services or equivalent role in the energy industry,Eligibility Requirements
Ability and willingness to travel within the hub, may require overnights.Must maintain a valid driver’s license.Desired Characteristics
Strong functional knowledge in Operations and Maintenance best industry practices, planning, organizing, coordinating, executing, and controlling the wind hub activities, productivity improvements, operational excellence in outage management.Strong leadership skills, ability to embrace and adapt to change and influence others.Associate or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.Technical Certification in Wind Energy or Electrical/Electronic field preferred.Advanced computer skills utilizing word and spreadsheet processing, e-mail programs, facility control and management systems, and computer diagnostic and troubleshooting toolsWind turbine or energy industry experienceAdvanced electrical, mechanical, and/or hydraulic experience, including use of hydraulic power toolsExperience with heavy equipment required for facility maintenance with a working knowledge of crane and rigging requirementsComprehensive writing skills to meet contractual reporting obligations, as requiredExcellent interpersonal and leadership skillsAbility, willingness, and adaptability to take initiative and work without direct supervisionAbility to work with a wide variety of personnel at all levels inside and outside of the Wind Hub.GE Vernova offers a great work environment, professional development, challenging careers, and competitive compensation.
