WSP is currently initiating a search for a **Vice President, Structural Engineer - Bridge Inspection Business Development and Quality Assurance Lead** , to join our dynamic team in Raleigh, NC (Wade Avenue) office.

Your Impact
+ Lead and support business development initiatives across the Southeast U.S. and Puerto Rico, with specific leadership for Tennessee and Arkansas market growth.
+ Assist our clients with the authoring of Bridge Inspection quality assurance (QA), SNBI and Refresher manuals and training documents.
+ Provide technical oversight and QA for bridge inspections in compliance with NBIS, NTIS, and client-specific requirements across the southeast.
+ Assist in scoping and prioritization of bridge repair and preservation projects for Departments of Transportation and other infrastructure owners across the region.
+ Engage in client relationship management, contributing to proposals, presentations, and strategic pursuits.
+ Mentor junior staff and share industry knowledge across teams, fostering technical development and professional growth.
+ Serve as a technical advisor and thought leader, leveraging decades of experience to guide internal teams and collaborate with external stakeholders.
+ Participate in national and regional initiatives including industry committees (AASHTO, FHWA, TRB) and professional working groups focused on bridge safety, inspection, and load rating.
+ Collaborate with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide “trusted advisor” service and future ready solutions for clients.
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
+ Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
**Required Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
+ Professional Engineer (PE) License.
+ 12+ years of bridge engineering experience, including leadership roles in federal, state, and consultant settings.
+ Proven expertise in bridge inspection, bridge management, safety oversight, and program implementation.
+ Experience supporting and implementing NBIS regulations and QA/QC practices for major inspection programs.
+ Demonstrated leadership and success in client engagement and program development across multiple jurisdictions.
+ Effective communicator and mentor, comfortable leading diverse teams and engaging with high-level stakeholders.
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
+ Strong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet business needs.
+ Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Master’s Degree in Engineering.
+ Experience with bridge programs in Tennessee, Arkansas, or Puerto Rico.
+ Strong professional network and relationships with regional DOTs and federal agencies.
+ Background in regulatory development, national bridge inspection standards, and technical training.
+ Familiarity with federal procurement, grant programs, and strategic infrastructure planning.
+ Participation in national peer exchanges and working groups on bridge inspection or load rating.
