Role Purpose
As the Technology Architecture Sub-Chapter Lead, you will be responsible for driving customer and business value through driving the organization from product focused towards solutions focused. You will be in a key team leadership role to help shape and enable the Roche Architecture & Technology strategy and contribute to the overall Roche vision.

You will provide effective leadership for the team in a manner that is consistent with the Roche values and leadership commitments. You will seek to inspire and lead your team to create transformative solutions ensuring that Roche products are recognized as being the best in the industry and maintain our #1 ranking in the future.

Reporting to the Global Head of Architecture & Technology in Roche Information Solutions (RIS), you will primarily partner with the rest of Engineering, Customer Areas, Data Services, Commercial, and Marketing & Services functions in Roche to deliver customer centric solutions.

Your responsibilities:

Responsible for product & solution architecture definition and design, industry technology scouting, and engineering technologies selection

Drive harmonization and modular design of product architecture, product family platforms and technology choices across businesses in Roche, compliant with the overall Roche architecture and leveraging common platforms and technology choices

Contributing to the success of the global architecture function beyond business boundaries, e.g. through sharing of knowledge / best practices, ownership of cross business programs / initiatives and market driven innovation

Lead a small team of architects in specific domains such as cloud computing, hosting and operations, etc.

Contribute to leading the Roche community of architects through the lead architects of the businesses in a matrixed reporting relationship

Driving, refining and owning the Roche Technology Architecture, ensuring harmonization and reuse with high strategic business impact

Driving strategic harmonization, modular design and reuse initiatives

As this position is a global role, international business travel will be required depending upon the business location of the successful candidate and ongoing business project activities.

Your profile

BS degree or equivalent in a directly related discipline (CS, Eng, etc.)

15+ years of previous software development/architecture experience

At least 5 years in product integration and solutions development

Have successfully defined, built, deployed, and supported an enterprise-scale web application in the cloud (in a leadership role)

Experience in the role of a tech lead or architect, leading a technical team and designing large software systems

Knows key technology trends in healthcare systems, multiple domains and technology areas and complex systems

Knows and influences developments in healthcare standards and protocols, customer environment / processes / protocols, compliance requirements and regulations (e.g. FDA)

Expertise in at least one layer and experience across multiple layers of the tech stack

Ideally experience covers multiple domains, complex systems (e.g. distributed systems), and multiple technology areas. Experience in either Java or C++/C# with expertise in at least one

Quick learner with the ability to understand complex workflows and develop and validate innovative solutions to solve difficult problems

Good communicator, able to talk with stakeholders and customers to explain technology and with the proven ability to take insights from customers and translate them into technical deliverables

Proven ability to establish and articulate a vision, set goals, develop and execute strategies, and track and measure results

Proven experience leading software teams through collaborative technological innovation in an agile environment or continuous improvement efforts that have yielded tangible results and/or positive impact for patients or business stakeholders

Highly developed leadership and people influencing skills; Demonstrated success in establishing a high performing environment, catalyzing We@RocheDiagnostics cultural dimensions, with an excellent reputation attracting the best talent and the commitment to developing and inspiring them

Proven ability to create and sustain strong collaborative relationships and networks with diverse stakeholders across a complex global organization

Intrapreneurial mindset with proven ability to incubate and foster agile organizations within a complex, global corporate environment

Familiarity with the technological trends and their relevance to the healthcare industry. A passionate and decisive business leader. Demonstrating courage, vision and drive to achieve results at the forefront of innovative technological changes

Locations

You will be based in Almere, the Netherlands, or Sant Cugat, Spain. At the Company's discretion, an exception to the location requirement could be made under extraordinary circumstances.
