Description
Amazon is seeking a Tax Planning Manager to focus on direct and indirect tax planning for Brazil and other LATAM countries. This position will work closely with business teams and the tax department to understand transactions and initiatives across the region, and provide strategic guidance on the tax implications within the AWS space.

This position will work closely with business teams and members of the tax department to understand transactions and business initiatives and provide guidance. This role requires the ability to think strategically while also managing day-to-day tactical details.
A day in the life
The successful candidate will also be responsible for documenting tax technical advice on the local country tax impacts of business activities, supporting reporting, compliance, and ongoing tax controversy analysis.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Experience working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national corporate tax department
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Bachelor degree in Law, Accounting or Finance with 5 years of experience in Brazilian indirect taxes;
- Proven experience in advising business and internal tax teams on Brazilian indirect and/or direct taxes;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English;
- Analytical and critical skills with the ability to translate complicated tax implications to non-tax audiences;
- Ability to relate tax processes and technical requirements to non-tax technical internal teams;
- Exemplary relationship-building skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Data analytics skills;
- Able to clearly and concisely interact with all levels of management;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Detail-oriented individual who takes ownership of projects;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively on milestone driven projects;
- Able to work in a fast paced, informal, and often ambiguous environment.
