Tax Analyst, PCS - Tax Engine
Description We are looking for a Tax Analyst in the Tax PCS (Product Classification Services) Operations team in Bratislava, Slovakia. The team is part of the Global Tax Calculation Services Program and is comprised of tax professionals and software engineers that are responsible for providing end-to-end global transaction tax calculation solutions (sales and use taxes, value-added taxes, goods and services taxes, and other consumption taxes) to Amazon and thousands of other merchants selling on Amazon marketplaces and other e-commerce platforms. The individual in this role will be assisting with global product classification efforts for tax purposes, ensuring the tax calculation platform complies with both global and domestic tax laws. The successful candidate will participate on cross-functional projects within Product Classification platform, perform data analysis and reporting, support outlining business requirements for system enhancements and E2E process improvements. This position is office-based, with some flexibility to work remotely in exceptional circumstances in line with Amazon’s current work guidance. Amazon encourages open communication about unique needs for flexible arrangements. Base pay for this position starts from EUR 2133 gross per month and salary depends on the skills and requirements, there will be further pay components such as a sign on bonus and the eligibility to participate in a restricted stock unit scheme operated independently by Amazon.com Inc. in USA. Basic Qualifications • Excellent communication (written and oral in English) and interpersonal skills • 2+ years of corporate experience • Strong problem-solving skills, critical and analytical thinking • Highly organized, decisive, and self-motivated • Experience working in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines • Proven ability to work and deliver effectively in customer-focused, cross-functional teams • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level Preferred Qualifications • Bachelor's degree. • Experience working in a product classification function. • Experience querying relational databases and ability to pull data from multiple sources; advanced level in SQL is an advantage. • Experience working with Machine learning models and/or AI tools Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
