TAR Mechanical Planner

We’re happy to discuss flexible working hours, patterns, and locations to suit you and the business. **What You'll Be Doing** **Job Scope:** The TAR mechanical planner is a member of the TAR Planning Team responsible for all assigned mechanical TAR planning as well as support for secondary discipline planning. This roll will transition into a TAR Mechanical Execution Coordinator during the Shutdown period. **Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:** **Pre-SD activities:** + Participate in the scope definition and development process, with a focus on the mechanical activities (equipment inspections, vessel/piping repairs and capital projects) as required. + Seek cost effective solutions to job scope when the opportunity arises. + Analyze detail planning information from previous TAR(s), as required. + Plan Jobs assigned in the planning tool and produce according to guidelines set by lead planners, planning coordinators and TAR manager. + Request secondary discipline (I&E, rotating equipment) planning support as needed, + Participate in the Job package review process + Maintains all planning documentation including progress in the tools as defined by the planning coordinator and TAR manager. + Support the seamless transition of the work packages to the contractor to ensure that the contractor understands the content of mechanical work packages. + Supports the material management process as required. **SD activities:** + Provide field support to the Execution organization for mechanical jobs, including safety and quality oversight. + Support daily execution oversight to ensure contractor is working efficiently to meet TAR cost and schedule milestones. + Primary contact for the contractors and service suppliers, and primary interface with the TAR Logistics team. + Coordinates with the TAR Logistics team regarding scaffolding, hydro-blasting, cranes, etc. services + Monitor the progress report process and provide validation where necessary. + Provide the final QA/QC for the work in his area. + Document daily findings and events (notes/photographs). + Ensure discovery work is addressed through the TAR-specific work process and provide planning/estimating/material and/or service procurement as necessary. + Oversee mechanical contractor during decommissioning/recommissioning activities + Participate in safety/housekeeping walkthroughs, and in incident investigations, when required. + Provide contractors with any additional documentation needed to conduct work properly. **Post-SD activities:** + Provide input to contractor evaluations. + Participate in review meetings and creation of lessons learned. + Ensure planning details, daily notes, photos, and other documentation are properly updated and archived. + Coordinates and/or plans capital project activities for the TAR as defined by the TAR and Construction managers. + Support secondary discipline planning to finalize plans for the mechanical activities associated with I&E and rotating equipment jobs as necessary. + Coordinates with the I&E, Electrical, and Operations Planners regarding scope development, scope additions, isolations, work planning, PPE, permitting requirements, etc. + Support the development of the site/unit infrastructure and facilities (provide summary of needs to Logistics Coordinator, especially long-lead deliveries). + Assemble job packages. **Ideal Background** **Education:** High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master degree in Construction Science, Building Science or advanced coursework is highly preferred. **Certification:** No certification is required for this position. **Experience:** This position requires 8+ years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating. **Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:** + Knowledge and application of company business standards and good practices. + Extreme attention to detail. + Possesses a comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines. + Understanding of existing and potential customer deliverable expectations and preferences. + Ability to set priorities. + Ability to effectively discuss and correspond with engineering disciplines and/or contractors to ascertain and understand pertinent information concerning schedules, scopes of work, estimates and/or project costs. + Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written. + Excellent presentation skills. + Excellent organizational skills. + Knowledge of other disciplines deliverable development to ensure coordination of efforts. + Knowledge and understanding of schedule constraints and information requirements for the production of all project controls deliverables. + Ability to develop a construction cost estimate, a detailed engineering schedule and a man-hour budget for a small project or an area for a larger project. + Ability to determine construction material quantities. + Experienced in estimating and scheduling professional service hours and assessing the progress and quality of project controls work. + Ability to accurately estimate completion of assigned tasks. + Proficient in the use of Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software and Timberline Estimating software. + Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office. **Physical Requirements:** + Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time. \#LI-MM2 **Hargrove Culture** We work to create an environment founded on trust, personal integrity, and a “team mentality” so that each person understands the value of their contributions both on a project and company-wide level.
