The Position

The Position

As the Supply Chain Manager (SCM), you will be accountable and responsible for the end-to-end supply chain management and processes in Roche Diagnostics Japan (RDKK), including issues management, supply and demand management, logistics operations and 3PL management. You will fully embrace and translate global and regional Supply Chain vision and strategic direction into business-aligned action plans and will lead the implementation. Additionally, you will develop and execute Supply Chain strategies that are aligned with local business priorities and objectives, ensuring they meet Japan's specific market needs and strategic goals. You will ensure effective communication of the Japanese market needs to global and regional stakeholders. As the leader of the Supply Chain teams, you will develop and promote a diverse and inclusive environment, focusing on the right work for the highest impact.

Key ResponsibilitiesEnd-to-End Supply Chain Management: Oversee the entire supply chain process, including issue management, supply and demand management, logistics operations, 3PL management. Together with the Commercial Operations team, you will ensure optimal transportation and deliveries to customers.Quality Standards: Ensure Roche Quality Standards are consistently applied throughout all supply chain processes.Strategic Alignment: Translate global and regional supply chain vision and strategic direction into business-aligned action plans and lead their implementation.Customer Service: Drive and maintain high-quality supply chain services for both internal and external customers, ensuring timely product availability at optimized quantity levels.Governance and Compliance: Provide governance and ensure adherence to all supply chain policies, procedures, and activities to maximize efficiency, effectiveness, resilience, and cost-effectiveness. This includes materials planning and control, import/export, customs clearance, inventory management and warehousing.Process Monitoring and Control: Ensure the execution of end-to-end supply chain tasks are fully monitored and controlled.Supply Chain Operations: Supervise daily supply chain operations, provide customer service support, ensure adherence to On Time In Full (OTIF) KPIs, and address customer logistics-related complaints to improve satisfaction.3PL Management: Manage 3PL providers to ensure alignment with Global Logistics Quality Standards, conduct periodic performance reviews, and drive service improvements.Stock Optimization: Take a proactive approach in optimizing stock levels, minimizing write-offs from expired or overstocked items, managing bottleneck/supply issues, and collaborating with Product Managers for market stock allocation.Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP): Lead the S&OP process to ensure alignment between supply chain capabilities and business demands. Work closely with the commercial team to ensure that supply chain strategies are fully integrated with business objectives and contribute to business success.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for business process improvements to enhance efficiency and cost optimization, secure stakeholder buy-in, and track and monitor the implementation of improvement plans internally and with 3PL providers.Team Leadership: Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop the supply chain team’s skills and knowledge, and motivate the team to achieve high performance.

Who You AreYou have a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field (preferred)You have proven a minimum 5 years of experience in Supply Chain settings and previous experience as a people managerYou have excellent customer service orientation, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skillsYou have fluent communication in English and JapaneseStrong knowledge in warehousing, distribution and third-party logistics management is a mustSAP know-how in SD, MM and APO DP modulesYou have proven that you can lead and influence a team, as well as work with a myriad of stakeholders including senior management. You are independent, and resilient and possess the desire and ability to challenge the status quo.
