We are seeking a Supplier QA Engineer to join our Minerals Procurement Global Quality team. You will be engaged in supplier quality management, including, but not limited to, supplier and product development, quality compliance programs and activities for Metso's interests and customer satisfaction & success, to build up a sustainable supply base in Finland.
You will work with various BL quality teams globally within Metso, Procurement, and Metso suppliers in the Nordics and Baltic regions. You will report to the Supplier Quality Manager located in Espoo.
This position could be in Espoo or Lappeenranta, Finland, and we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options. It involves up to 35% of travel domestically and internationally.

You will join a team of quality engineers dedicated to Global Quality Improvement and Harmonization. We work closely with internal/external stakeholders, such as Business Lines, other Local HUBs, and Suppliers. The members in our team are located in Düsseldorf, Espoo, and Sorocaba.
What you do
Participate in defining the process workflow for Quality on HUBs and the main tools for Quality on Minerals. Identify gaps and provide training related to our tools, management system, technical, PL requirements. Monitor and report Supplier Performance KPIs (NCR and RCA) with HUBs and BLs – KPIs. Manage RCA of internal and supplier issues as per Metso Outotec criteria. Quality and Sustainability management (Audit, KPIs). Coordinate and/or perform an audit of new and available suppliers and the follow-up of audit findings. Support Quality Teams of HOP/HUBs on their QMS (Process Audit, NCR, RCA, process workflow); General management for prototypes and pilots, and supporting the definition of the process. Provides supplier capability approval and development on product supply sourcing, as required. Support the strategic procurement team in their demand, being responsible for new supplier qualification (On Boarding Process) and supplier development. Supports the development of standard documents to ensure compliance with the document package and product supply. Evaluate the supplier’s quality procedures and documents against the applicable specifications and codes. Lead sustainability actions of the supplier base (audits, climate actions, and CO2 targets). Coordinate and/or carry out inspection up to demand and send data or inspection reports to the Supplier Quality Manager and other Managers, if needed. Hosting customer representatives and presenting products when required. Attending training to ensure being a knowledgeable and qualified team member in place, able to meet all challenges within the organization. Works effectively with other groups and departments, internal or external. Ensure Metso Tools are in use. Assesses and prioritizes work requirements; develops and executes plans on time, and accepts advice or direction as well.
Who you are
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering department and minimum five (5) years of experience in Quality or three (3) years of experience in Mining and Construction, Heavy industry experience/background. Be able to perform domestic and international travel, with short notice. Travel up to 35% of the time may be required. Extensive knowledge on quality management systems, having deep experience in NCR and CAPA using methods such as 5Why, Fishbone, 5D, 8D. Proficient with drawings, material specifications, code specifications, manufacturing processes, inspection processes, inspection codes, painting specifications and codes, packaging specifications and codes, and all related standards. Superior organizational and analytical skills are essential. In addition to local language reading, writing, and speaking skills, English language reading, writing, and speaking skills at a high professional level. Strong knowledge of the business functions of sales, supply, engineering, finance, human resources, business systems, and IT infrastructure. Experience with the SAP ERP environment preferred. Being able to meet essential requirements, physically against to shop environment, and software knowledge. (Office Tools, SAP, etc.) Knowledge about Metso tools and systems. Experience in auditing & inspecting suppliers globally. Familiar with ISO 9001: 2015 and with Internal audits, and having certification is a plus. Welding and casting products, manufacturing, and quality knowledge are a plus. Highly motivated individual with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills to manage internal and external interfaces.
