Strategic Operations Manager, Grocery & Retail - Merchandising Operations
**About the Role** Merchandising is a rapidly growing area within Grocery & Retail, focused on providing customers with convenient access to a wide and inspiring selection of products, at affordable prices. As a member of the US&C Merchandising Ops team, you have the opportunity to drive sales by enhancing the customer shopping journey and strategically promoting our GR product selection. **What the Candidate Will Do** - Drive the in-app merchandising strategy for Grocery and Retail, including product prioritization, offers and affordability messaging, and surface conversion - Establish standard processes for content optimization considering channel, audience, geo, in-app placement, and other variables - Monitor merchandising analytics, find opportunities, and drive productive recommendations to make step-changes - Build, develop, and scale comprehensive merchandising processes that will shape the vision and future of a dedicated Merchandising function - Perform analysis and experiments to find growth opportunities for the Grocery and Retail business **Basic Qualifications** - 3+ years experience in merchandising, operations, and/or strategy roles with a desire to expand skills - The ability to effectively blend creativity and analytics to inform strategic decisions - Track record of owning and executing cross-functional initiatives, with strong organization, problem solving, and time management skills - Adaptable to quick changes within both the company and industry, and strong level of comfort navigating ambiguity - A go-getter attitude - you’re willing to take a hands-on approach to get the job done and bias towards action - Highly collaborative - you know how to engage and mobilize multiple teams to drive execution towards shared goals - The skill to balance local market needs and a global-first mindset to drive impact at scale **Preferred Qualifications** - Proficient with SQL and Python For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$95,500 per year - USD$106,250 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
