Chubb is looking for an experienced Storage Operations Engineer to enhance our Distributed IT Operations team, focusing on Enterprise Storage support.

 

Responsibilities:

Incident Investigation & Diagnosis: Responsible for investigating and diagnosing incidents and problems related to Block Storage, File Storage, and Storage Fabric switches. Operational Support: Engage in a follow-the-sun operational model to maintain Block and File Storage Infrastructure for global systems. On-Call Support: Provide on-call and after-hours support for incident resolution, infrastructure maintenance, and operational efforts. System Monitoring: Proactively monitor system availability, ensuring integrity of file and block storage systems and storage fabric switches. Capacity & Performance Management: Monitor and enforce capacity and performance metrics and help build instrumentation for effective environmental management. Collaboration: Work closely with various teams (network, security, development) on implementing infrastructure components for emerging technologies and applications. Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for storage infrastructure, covering installation, configuration, and troubleshooting processes. Preventive Maintenance & Expertise: Implement preventive maintenance for storage systems (Dell PowerMax, PowerStore, Pure, PowerScale) and provide Level 1 and 2 support for storage configurations and administration.

Qualifications:

At least 5-7 years of related experience in Storage platforms/technologies. Extensive engineering and support experience across hardware, operating systems, storage, and virtualization in large, global enterprise environments. Advanced expertise in Dell EMC PowerMax, PowerStore, Pure, and Unity block storage systems, including associated technologies and protocols. Proficient in Cisco MDS Storage Fabrics and experienced with Dell EMC PowerScale (Isilon NAS) systems. Familiarity with IBM XIV and FlashSystem storage solutions, and VMware hypervisors (vSphere 7.x, 8.x) and VMware Cloud Foundation is advantageous. Knowledgeable about Cisco UCS and Dell PowerEdge MX server hardware, with experience in storage migration technology being beneficial. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, adept at debugging complex cross-system issues while effectively documenting root causes and remediation strategies. Comprehensive understanding of various technology towers, including Storage, Data Center Migration, and Disaster Recovery, along with risk and controls landscape adherence.
