Are you a passionate User Experience (UX) Designer, interested in new technologies, driving change through data, and using customer obsessed design processes to create products and services?
As a Senior UX Designer in Data Center Automation, you will be working with a team of fellow designers, product managers, and software engineers to build, test, launch, measure, and iterate on the UX that drives this mission forward. This work supports users inside AWS Data Centers by developing products that innovate on day-to-day work and optimize for minimal friction to drive incremental performance gains and reduce human error. This position requires a hands-on, innovative designer who can translate business needs into a customer-focused product.

The AWS Data Center BRIDGE team owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

Key job responsibilities
- Guide design strategy and create intuitive solutions for complex product challenges
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate research insights into actionable design solutions
- Develop and maintain scalable design systems that ensure consistency across products
- Foster collaborative relationships with product, engineering, and research teams
- Mentor and support the professional development of design team members
A day in the life
You'll start your day collaborating with customers and stakeholders to analyze user insights, then work with product managers to define design requirements. You might lead a workshop to align stakeholders on design direction, review work with junior designers, or present design solutions to leadership. Your afternoon could involve iterating on prototypes based on feedback and contributing to our design system documentation.

Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of design experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator, InVision, or similar
- Experience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps
- Experience working with stakeholders to plan and execute programs that are strategic in nature
- Experience with hands-on visual design
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes
- Experience with UX design of complex workflows

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
