Tax Compliance:
Calculate federal book-tax differences and state modifications. Maintain tax depreciation system. Prepare federal and state income and franchise tax returns, extensions, and estimated tax payments. Research return positions and implement tax method changes. Prepare amended returns, claims for tax refunds, and statistical/informational reports as needed.Tax Accounting:
Gather and prepare inputs for the interim and annual income tax provision calculations, including components of income tax expense, deferred taxes, taxes payable, and uncertain tax positions, under tight time constraints. Administer tax provision software. Create tax journal entries. Prepare and review account analyses and reconciliations. Draft financial statement disclosures. Coordinate responses to inquiries from internal business partners and external auditors.Comply with SOX internal controls.Tax Audits:
Gather support, research tax issues, and coordinate with outside advisors and/or counsel in complex matters to effectively support the company’s tax positions.Respond to information requests and questions in a timely and accurate manner.Draft correspondence with taxing authorities.Special Projects:
Provide technical research and assist in tax planning and other tax projects as they arise.Continuously identify, recommend, and implement process improvement ideas.Other duties as assigned
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experienceMinimum Special Certifications or Technical Skills
Strong knowledge and application of accounting principles, including ASC 740Proficient in Excel and Microsoft suite, tax preparation and provision software, and tax research toolsMinimum Type of Experience the Job Requires
5+ years in the area of corporate income tax accounting and compliance involving large, multi-jurisdictional environments with global public accounting firm or large corporationOther
Comfortable in a fast-paced, multi-project, deadline-driven environment and working with minimal supervisionExcellent organizational, time management, and analytical skillsEffective interpersonal and communication skills and enthused by working as part of a teamPreferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
