Software Engineer II
**About the Role** The Uber Eats Backend Platform team enables all Uber Eats engineers to build reliable, high quality products for Uber customers with speed. **\-\-\-\- What the Candidate Will Do ----** 1. Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable software solutions 2. Identify opportunities and lead of the entire development lifecycle end-to-end, from architecture design and coding to testing and deployment 3. Conduct thorough code reviews, offering constructive feedback to maintain high code quality and elevate coding standards 4. Help the team understand what is important and what problems to focus on 5. Identify solutions to ambiguous problems and help the team reason through tradeoffs **\-\-\-\- Basic Qualifications ----** 1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience 2. 2+ years of professional experience software development experience with a track record of increasing responsibility and impact 3. Experience with one of the following programming languages: Java, Go, C/C++. 4. Demonstrated experience developing complex backend systems **\-\-\-\- Preferred Qualifications ----** 1. Strong problem-solving skills, with expertise in algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis 2. A desire to be part of a team that delivers impactful results every day 3. Innate drive to deliver results and a deep sense of accountability for your work 4. Passion for designing and building hyper-scale distributed systems 5. Resilience, determination, ownership mindset, and a keen appetite for collaborative efforts 6. Committed to crafting clear, maintainable, and reusable software For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$167,000 per year - USD$185,500 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
