DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Design, develop and implement software solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related field of study plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer/Developer, Program Analyst, IT Consultant, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related field of study plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer/Developer, Program Analyst, IT Consultant, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires three (3) years of experience with the following skills: implementing various design patterns including façade pattern on Java 11 or higher; deploying REST API endpoints on Java 11 or higher; using Postgres RDS relational database to support critical business data storage with secure encryption at rest and transit; and using DevOps tools including Github, Jenkins, Sonar, Docker, and Kubernetes to deploy services from lower to higher environments. This position requires one (1) year of experience with the following skill: developing services with microservices architecture utilizing AWS services including VPC, ECS Fargate, and AWS Cloudwatch Logs. This position requires experience with the following skills: developing event-based architecture of message flow to publish Kafka platform; using Spring framework to address API security; building applications that utilize JSON-formatted payloads for data transfer; and utilizing system-level tools including Bash, Powershell, and Zuul to support production issue analysis and investigation.
