Job Description

Reporting to the Software Development Director, the Software Development Manager will collaborate with and manage a team of engineers. You will work with both technical and business teams to understand the requirements and dependencies for the features that need to be developed and enhanced. This is a hands-on role which will require coding about 20% of the time.

You will:

Technical Leadership:Provide technical leadership to the development team, guiding them to ensure we run a steady KTLO, while ensuring the changes/implementations being picked-up, are designed with the plan, and able to migrate them to AWS cloud with minimal re-workQuality Assurance:Oversee all stages of software development to ensure quality.·Establish and enforce code standards, perform code reviews, and lead troubleshooting efforts.On-call rotation for any platform emergencies and release nights.Resource Allocation:Ensure efficient use of resources in on-prem and AWS, such as EC2 instances and Lambda functions, to optimize costs and performance.Team Development:Coach development team members.Facilitate their professional development and foster a positive and collaborative team environment.Budgeting and Planning:Plan and manage the budget for the entire projectWork with financial and leadership teams to forecast expenses and justify themCommunication:Be the bridge between non-technical partners and the development team

QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems, or a related field12+ years of software development experience, with a 3+ years in a management role is requiredSoftware development management experience within a healthcare organization3+ years of cloud experience requiredExpert experience with ASP.NET C#/VB, .Net Core applicationsKnowledge of other relevant technologies like MVC, Entity Framework, Unit testing and LINQ are also essentialKnowledge of message queuing technologies like MSMQ, Rabbit MQ is requiredHigh level of proficiency in using multiple AWS services such as EC2, Lambda (serverless), S3, RDS, DynamoDB, and CloudFormation is expectedAWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Developer certification could be an added advantageExperience with microservices architecture is important, including understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS ECS for container orchestrationExperience with ETL technologies like SSISFamiliarity with SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and AWS's DynamoDBKnowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and other DevOps principles is beneficialFamiliarity with tools such as GitHub Actions, AWS Code Pipeline or similar is desirable

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay range for this position is listed above. Within this range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as job-related skills, experience, and education. You will be also eligible for a variable pay opportunity.
