As a Software Development Engineer on the Device OS Middleware team, you will be part of a team that owns critical OS framework components, services, tools, and application development frameworks - working on projects that push the boundaries of customer-device interaction. You will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive and design innovative consumer product experiences. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. As part of your work, you will work closely with Amazon device software teams, product management teams, external partner developers, internal Amazon application developers, and Amazon service teams to drive development from the concept stage to the launch stage. A day in the life You will work with senior and principle software engineers to design, prototype an implement new OS features and use cases. You will write, build and debug the code you develop on both shipping and yet to be announce Amazon products. You will work in a creative environment where you can build and grow your software architecture, design, and development skills. About the team This role is part of a growing team of software engineers that is supporting a multiple Amazon Devices projects. The team works closely with product managers and internal teams to define and enable real, end user observable use-cases in a lightweight agile manner. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market.
