This role allows the successful candidate to:  

Lead cross functional technical teams including engineering, marketing, quality, UX design, operations, and manufacturing Analyze, identify, and quantify market opportunities for necessary innovative products and capabilities that will be used in nationwide grocery, drug, convenience & fuel, and department/specialty retail outlets both domestic and foreign. Operate in an Agile environment based on Design Thinking, which focuses on progress vs. perfection, and iteration vs analysis paralysis 

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:  

 

As a Senior Product Manager, you will play a pivotal in role in developing and promoting innovative products that will consist of hardware and software products, supported by NCR services. Effectiveness in this role requires the ability to: 

Strategic Alignment

Conduct thorough market research to understand the local consumer behavior, competitive landscape, and regulatory environment. Use this data to identify opportunities and potential challenges. 

Develop and implement a localization strategy to adapt products to meet the cultural, linguistic, and legal requirements of the new market. This includes modifying product features, marketing materials, and customer support. 

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, legal, and operations, to ensure a cohesive and coordinated launch plan. Facilitate communication and alignment among all stakeholders. 

Oversee the execution of the launch plan, including setting timelines, managing budgets, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs). Monitor the product's performance post-launch and make necessary adjustments to optimize success. 

Product Development :  

Spearhead the lifecycle of both hardware and software products, from ideation, gathering requirements, to post-release review.  

Empower your cross-functional teams for successful execution of product releases by development of clear, concise product requirements to drive product plans and a schedule to deliver within the market window 

Understand latest technologies (like Kubernetes, containers, etc.) and able to work closely with engineers and architects to drive outcomes 

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE: 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management or other quantitative field You have 5+ years of experience in software product management with a proven track record of shipping products and capabilities that solve customer problems Understanding of Agile, Design Thinking, modern software product management best practices Entrepreneurial nature, nose for innovation that matters, with the ability to prioritize across    tactical/strategic, customer/market requirements Strong interpersonal skills & ability to build strong, trusting relationships  Passionate about achieving impactful outcomes Ability to communicate in both English and Japanese 

   

Preferred Qualifications:  

Experience with self-checkout and point of sales solutions in retail 

BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field  

Knowledge of modern tech stack (Containers, Kubernetes) micro-service oriented architecture, APIs 

MBA
