As a Senior Software Engineer you will work on emerging technology projects focused building Proof of Concept/Proof of technology and solution / reference implementations. Join our innovative team and contribute to the development of cutting-edge solutions at Cat Digital.

What You Will Do:

Ability to translate an innovative idea into a Proof-of-Concept & Proof-of-TechnologyExplore new technology / product / integrations / Open SourceAWS/AZURE OptimizationsServerless patterns in Python and JavaBuild Data engineering (Batch, Streaming) workloads and API’s using development frameworks. Artificial Intelligence (A), Machine Learning (ML) and Large Language Models (LLM)Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.Deploy solutions on AWS using CloudFormation or Azure Resource ManagerWork with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, and Crew.ai.Collaborate with data scientists to refactor analytics solutions for production, ensuring scalability and efficiency.Assist in the development of machine learning and AI pipelines using Apache Airflow.

What You Will Have:

Software Development: Knowledge of software development tools and activities; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements.Software Development Life Cycle: Knowledge of software development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace.Software Product Design/Architecture: Knowledge of software product design; ability to convert market requirements into the software product design.Software Product Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of technical aspects of a software products; ability to design, configure and integrate technical aspects of software products.Software Product Testing: Knowledge of software product testing; ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure software product quality and adherence to stated requirements.

Considerations For Top Candidates:

8+ years or more of software development experience 5+ years or more of experience in designing and developing software applications in Python3+ years of experience in creating sub-second latency API Solutions.3+ years or more of experience in designing and developing data warehouse solutionsExperience with Python libraries such as FastAPI, LangGraph, and LangChainExperience in working with Data science Libraries in Python or SnowflakeExperience working with Git version control on medium to large teamsExperience in cost optimizations in Snowflake, AWS or  AzureExceptional communication skills with experience working on a cross functional teamTechnical writing skills

Additional Details:

This position has the option to be based out of either our Chicago, IL; Peoria, IL; or Irving, TX (Dallas)Relocation Assistance is NOT available for this role

Summary Pay Range:

$110,520.00 - $179,640.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
