Senior Engineering Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be a design authority for the 800xA engineering discipline. Each day, you will complete assignments on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring assignments are completed in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards.The work model for the role is: {#LI-hybrid}This role is contributing to the Process Automation area, and its Process Industries division in Chile. The main stakeholders for this position are the Sales and Operations internal teams, as well as our main external customers from the Mining and Pulp & Paper industries.You will be mainly accountable for:• Working with the customer to shape and deliver solutions while seeking customer feedback to drive and deliver improvements.• Creating work plans and cost estimates for the portfolio of projects and ensuring quality, timely implementation within the targeted cost.• Coordinating with relevant functions to ensure the designs are appropriately designed, configured, tested, installed, and commissioned.• Leadership and/or participation in ABB integration and interoperability tests.Our team dynamicsYou will join a specialized team, with a high level of expertise and knowledge in 800xA DCS, and remarkable teamwork capabilities, where trust and reliability are ever present.

Qualifications for the role

Professional degree in Electronics or Automation Engineering, or Electrical engineering majoring in Industrial Control.Extensive knowledgeable in DCS, especially in ABB's 800xA system, as well as experience working with operating systems, PLC and DCS for the Mining and Pulp & Paper industries.Experience in AC800M, communication protocols (such Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet/IP) and knowledge in networking, switches configuration and/or VLANs.Over 7 years of experience working with the 800xA DCS, as well as extensive knowledge of PLCs and their related processes within the Mining and Pulp & Paper industries.Proven experience in people leadership both in office and on-site, and capability to attend on-site activities when required.You are a team-oriented individual, proactive, driven, and capable of providing support to teammates and subordinates as required.A native or fluid grasp of the Spanish language, as well as being able to interact to a lesser degree in English (\"intermediate\" grasp of the language is desirable).
