AstraZeneca is currently looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our R&D IT Development Platform Management team to manage and maintain our Analytics & Reporting product, that is GxP compliant, part of Clinical Development Platforms and supporting mission critical function of running clinical trials run both internally and across external partners. It is broadly classified into EntimICE, SAS Grid, SAS LSAF, SAS Viya, Visual Analytics software suite that has a mixture of hosted solutions and on-prem solutions based primarily on SAS technology. You will be a part of our core product team that operates under BizDevOps operating model, therefore will be responsible to work cross functionally with other team members such as Product Lead, DevOps Lead, Release Manager, Business Analysts, QM’s and key stakeholders such as Business Partners and Product Owners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in business requirement gathering and design activities with business & IT stakeholders as part of the product team.Perform delivery activities through Design/Build/Test/Deploy phases for regular releases on A&R product.Deploy patches and any version upgrades for on-prem applications and coordinate with the vendor for hosted solutions that fall under the A&R landscape.Maintain the work product log for functional and integration configuration across products in the A&R Product.Support and maintain SAS API Macros used for integrationsResponsible for maintaining configuration specification documentation for both functional and integration configurations.Responsible for preparation of SDLC documentation, KB articles, and confluence documentation.Ensure that all system security and control procedures are implemented and maintained.Generate and implement ideas to streamline our integration landscape to simplify BAU support.Serve as an SME on the A&R platform for IT and business partners across regions and business areas.Work with centralized integration team and Globalscape teams to maintain legacy integration interfaces.Work with software vendors on product requirements and issues related to the platform, security setup, and functional configuration.Utilize JIRA for requirements, tasks, validation/testing, and go-live activities during releases.Solve day-to-day incidents, service requests, and work towards incident-reduction and automation of service-related activities. Update Service Now (ticket management tool) for all events regarding incidents, service requests, changes, and problems.Participate in service-related activities with business & IT stakeholders as part of a scrum team.Actively participate in service transition when a new application/new product is introduced as part of the A&R Product and drive small modules in support transitions, ensuring application stability when taking over BAU support.Troubleshoot issues with DevOps engineers, monitor key metrics, and maintain overall health of the product.Collaborate with the Testing team to manage capacity across products.Work with Enterprise teams to resolve issues related to infrastructure storage, database, Cloud, Network, Citrix and IDM teamsMaintain SLAs & customer satisfaction scores and take actions to improve them.MANDATORY SKILLS:
Proven experience in engineering and software architecture design.Experience with Security and Authentication and SSO topics (related to the access of source data, the access of data within SAS on the SAS servers across the different business organizations as well as SAS integration with tools such as Active Directory/LDAP/KerberosExperience with cloud technologies (AWS & Azure)Design, code, test, and implement software solutions and Integrations in support of the A&R product.Sound knowledge of various operating systems and databases.Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.Ability to provide technical system solutions, determine overall design direction and provide hardware recommendations for complex technical issuesExperience planning and developing support processes and adhering to best practicesKnowledge of support processes like Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management and experience working in support teams.Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, Git & JenkinsAbility to work independently and collaborate with people across the globe with diverse cultures and backgrounds.Experience of working in agile teams using methodologies such as SCRUM, Kanban and SAFe.Experience in working with GxP systems & documentation.Experience working in Software Development projects including custom full stack (e.g: Java, Python, C#, JavaScript) programming and data integration.Knowledge of CI/CD practices and utilization of Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git.PREFERRED SKILLS:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Information Science, or equivalent degree is preferred but not required. Self-taught engineers with a proven history in software engineering will be considered.
