Job responsibilities

Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendorsDevelops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersDrives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processesServes as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focusActively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software  Development Life CycleInfluences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologiesAdds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 5+ years of applied experience.Proficient in building complex distributed systems using Java (11/17) on AWS, with real-world experience across multi-AZ, multi-region, and multi-cloud vendor environments.Experience in  AWS products/services and Kubernetes/container technologies, with the ability to apply them effectively for specific workloads.Understanding of established patterns, including stability patterns/anti-patterns, event-based architecture, CQRS, and process orchestration.Proficient in creating real-world architectures that align with business engineering teams' needs, ensuring applications are built around these designs.Excellent grasp of modern engineering practices to leverage Public Cloud benefits, such as auto-scaling, supported by robust tooling and automation.Experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability. Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field. Familiar with  Big Data stack (Spark/Iceberg)
