Senior Director, Technical Design
**Position Summary...** **What you'll do...** We are seeking the industries foremost authority in fit to lead a global transformation of our product integrity platform. This leader will architect and scale an industry-defining vision for fit precision, body morphology alignment, and customer satisfaction—powered by digital innovation, and AI-led tooling. This role is not about maintaining status quo. It is about disrupting it. You will be charged with modernizing legacy systems, standardizing global fit protocols, and embedding intelligence into every stage of the product lifecycle. As a member of the design leadership team, you will serve as the strategic and operational lead for all things related to technical design, fit assurance, 3D simulation, and human-centric fit fidelity across our Private Brands portfolio. **Key Responsibilities:** + Fit Leadership: Define and govern global fit strategies across genders, and body archetypes, ensuring alignment with evolving consumer data. Own the global fit block library and lead continuous evolution informed by scan data, return analytics, and AI trend inputs. + Technology Innovation: Spearhead the implementation of next-gen technical design platforms—3D, PLM, digital avatars, automated spec engines—with a roadmap that materially reduces cycle time and defects. Partner with Engineering, Data Science, and AI teams to architect intelligent systems . + Organizational Transformation: Develop a high-performance technical design organization, with regional centers of excellence, role clarity, and measurable performance accountability. Champion a culture of innovation, precision, and continuous improvement. + Fit Quality: Establish rigorous quality assurance gates through development, production, and post-purchase. Reduce rework, return rate, and vendor variation through predictive tools, factory onboarding, and digital-first fit approvals. + Executive Thought Leadership: Serve as the face of technical design and fit within the Fashion executive team. Translate complex technical challenges into business value, guiding Product Development, Sourcing, with clear metrics and insights. + Customer-Centric Product Integrity: Build and institutionalize customer fit panels, ethnographic validation cycles, and returns-based learning loops. Ensure every product meets the promise of comfort, consistency, and confidence. **Qualifications:** + 15+ years in senior technical design or product integrity roles, with global leadership scope across apparel categories + Proven experience driving technology adoption and digital transformation in a multi-brand, multi-region enterprise + Deep expertise in body scan data, fit form development, pattern engineering, grading logic, and global standardization + Executive-level oral and written business communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence at the senior leadership level and across matrixed organizations. + Track record of recruiting, retaining, and developing high-performing technical talent + Advanced understanding of PLM, 3D CAD, and AI/ML integration within product development ecosystems + Strong operational mindset with ability to translate product quality and customer metrics into actioned process innovation Preferred: + Advanced degree in Apparel Engineering, Product Development, or related field + Recognized thought leader in the industry (speaker, contributor, advisor on fit technology) At Walmart, we offer competitive pay as well as performance-based bonus awards and other great benefits for a happier mind, body, and wallet.
