Position: Senior Data Analyst

Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086

Duties: Define metrics, drive roadmaps, and uncover opportunities to improve Walmart products. Help identify the most suitable source for data that is fit for purpose. Use quantitative analysis and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand what drives the business. Partner with product leaders, designers, and engineering managers to improve products and prioritize projects for impact. Provide data driven insights and deliver recommendations that address opportunities for product improvements. Represent the product analytics team in key meetings and business reviews with executive teams. Present to and influences the team and business audience using the appropriate data visualization frameworks and conveys clear messages through business and stakeholder understanding. Use statistical methods to generate and test hypotheses. This includes: Performing analytical deep-dives to identify problems, opportunities and actions required; Collecting, processing, and cleaning data from disparate sources using SQL, R, Python, or other scripting and statistical tools. Managing the design, execution, and analysis of A/B tests; driving rigor and testing culture through product teams. Assist in the planning, design and implementation of an exploratory data analysis research projects. Use advanced Knowledge in Data Discovery tools to write queries and analyze data to identify patterns, trends, outliers, and correlations. Promote and educate others on data quality awareness. Profile, analyze, and assess data quality. Test and validate data quality requirements. Continuously measure and monitor data quality.

Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or the equivalent in Business, Engineering (any), Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Business, Engineering (any), Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 2 years of experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.

Skills required: Experience driving incremental revenue for the company through proactive exploratory analysis. Experience conducting business reviews, Summarizing complex data driven insights using thoughtfully selected visualizations and provide recommendations to shape the product roadmap. Experience using data visualization tools including Tableau, Qlik or Spotfire for building dashboards/reports and data visualizations to help stakeholders track performance on an ongoing basis. Experience in multi million records of data using SQL based querying languages to query, join, manipulate, process and aggregate datasets. Experience with deep-dive analyses to investigate spikes/dips in KPIs and report actionable insights to help address business opportunities. Experience with MS Excel to manipulate data, aggregate KPI's, create summary tables or visualizations to present trends. Experience designing A/B tests, interpret results, conduct additional analysis when needed to support decision making. Experience with statistical analysis to interpret results (statistical significance, p-value assessment, customer segmentation).  Experience conducting analysis such as opportunity sizing, root cause analyses, cohort analyses, performance trending, audience profiling, and pre vs post analysis. Experience working with data engineers to fill in data gaps by building new datasets enabling visibility into business performance. Experience developing data pipelines to aggregate and summarize data to enable automated reporting.   Experience partnering with product teams to understand business questions/goals and improve digital products using data analysis with statistical techniques to address specific business functions. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $113,949/year to $202,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.  Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
