Santander Consumer Finance UK (SCUK) is based in Redhill, Surrey and provides motor finance to a network of dealerships throughout the United Kingdom.

We are currently looking for a MI Operations Manager to join our Operational Transformation & MI department. This role will drive the implementation and management of the MI transformation strategy across SCUK’s operation involving managing a team of MI & Planning Managers who will control and develop the associated reporting solutions.

Please note this role is a hybrid role with at least 3 days a week in the Redhill office. Remote workers will not be considered.

What you’ll be doing:

Lead the automation of MI reporting and design and implement self-service BI tools to empower business users with real-time insightsLead a team responsible for MI reporting, data automation, and process optimization ensuring alignment with organisational goals and objectivesOversee the development of dynamic dashboards in Power BI, or similar toolsDevelop automated data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processesEnsure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all MI and reporting outputsEstablish best practices for data governance, security, and regulatory compliance specifically surrounding Consumer Duty and GDPROversee the transition from manual spreadsheets to centralized, automated data modelsDeal with or escalate any identified risks in relation to Santander Consumer risk policiesEnsure compliance with SCUK and San UK data and change governance frameworksRepresent Operational MI for various forums and supports with insights for change programmesWork with senior leaders to understand reporting needs and develop automated solutionsAct as the bridge between IT, operations, and business teams, ensuring alignment on reporting requirementsProvide training and upskilling to team members on data automation tools and techniquesConduct thorough development and performance evaluations to maximize team potential and address areas for improvementIdentify opportunities for robotic process automation (RPA) or AI-driven automation in reportingAdhering to our commitment to Consumer Duty ensuring we put our customers’ needs first and set higher and clearer standards of consumer protection

What we’re looking for:

Has excellent analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills in order to develop strong methodologies and create sustainable reportsMaster of the art of data visualisation. Has the ability to create clear and engaging visualisations to present data in a meaningful wayHas a strong command of Microsoft Excel for data manipulation (Index, Match, VBA, complex formulas) and as advanced knowledge database interrogation & programming skillsUnderstands data security and compliance standards to protect the integrity and confidentiality of dataHas experience of implementing suitable control mechanisms to prevent occurrence or re-occurrence of data quality issuesHas a natural skill to convey complex data structures/formula’s/findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and understandable mannerHas a proven grasp of data structure and databases, is able to handle  large volumes of data using experience/knowledge of SAS, SQL Server and Business ObjectsProven experience in managing a skilled and high functioning team with varied ways of working, utilising colleagues’ skillsets and expertiseAble to interpret requirements from a set strategy and push through to completion and relay that direction to team membersSound ability to plan and organise own workload as well as the teams workload aligning to the strategic vision of the businessExemplary attention to detail from identifying errors in reporting, trends as well as a keen eye for aesthetics within reporting dashboards and packs
