Quality Technician
We have an exceptional opportunity for a Quality Technician to join our team in the Plainville, CT facility. We are seeking innovative problem solvers who can provide prompt support to our factory production teams. Quality Technicians perform routine and complex work related to ensuring adherence to our published specifications and customer expectations. They work closely with both Production associates and our Engineering teams to troubleshoot cell issues. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** 1. Inspect purchase parts, parts in process, and final assemblies for conformance to drawings, work orders, bills of material, specifications, test procedures, and visual criteria. 2. Execute containment actions to protect customers from known manufacturing, engineering, and supplier defects. 3. Manages customer return cases, including approval of customer request for return, communication of evaluation results, and credit requests. 4. Perform initial customer return (RA) evaluations and provide detailed report as to failure mode. 1. Evaluations include, troubleshooting electronic PCBA to identify component failures, utilizing cell testing equipment to ensure proper functionality, and identifying assembly errors 5. Generate Engineering Change requests when finding drawing and BOM errors for corrections 6. Generate Quality Alerts in cell to ensure that Standard Work is being followed 7. Participate in material review board (MRB) reviews. 8. Generate inspection, certificate of conformance, and first article reports 9. Manage gauge and equipment calibration systems. 10. Use structured problem solving and basic troubleshooting techniques to diagnose process failures. 11. Work with Quality, Manufacturing, and Design Engineering to conduct trials and tests. 12. Conducts audits of manufacturing process and Quality System. 13. Utilize Fortive Business System (FBS) tools to make process / yield improvements 14. Maintain and update procedures, processes, and documentation. 15. Additional Responsibilities may include; Weld Inspections, ESD/Solder Training **QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:** _Education and Experience Required_ 1. High School diploma or equivalent 2. 2+ years of experience in electronic and assembly work. _Knowledge and Skills Required_ 1. Ability to read blueprints and knowledge of basic dimensioning and tolerancing. 2. Ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic assembly 3. Good verbal and written communication required. 4. Familiarity with APQP and ISO Quality systems. 5. General use of electrical and mechanical equipment such as Digital Multimeters, electronic/mechanical gages and power supplies 6. Overall knowledge of soldering components to printed circuit board assemblies _Preferred Qualifications_ 1. 2-year technical degree in mechanical or electrical technology or certificate preferred 2. Inspection experience preferred 3. 2+ years of testing of electronic assemblies and sensors down to actual component failure 4. Lean manufacturing experience preferred 5. Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). **OTHER FUNCTIONS:** May be assigned various projects and responsibilities, at the discretion of Director of Quality, Quality Manager, Sr. Quality Engineer, Quality Engineer, or VP of Operations. **PHYSICAL DEMANDS / ENVIRONMENT:** The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Employees will be **required** to wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), which **may** include: eye, hearing and respiratory protection, protective smock, steel toe shoes, gloves, hard hats, or face shields. Contact lenses **may not** be allowed in some areas.
