Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to deploys and leads the quality and continuous improvement (CI in below) strategy for a local organizational unit, including quality and CI culture, systems, tools, and competent teams, with the aim to achieve and exceed customer expectations while ensuring sustainable operations. Drives the local quality system through the right mix of prevention, continuous improvement, robust root cause analysis, quick response, and sustainable solutions to problems. Coordinates the efforts of all necessary local functions that impact the quality results to reach the targets for the organizational unit and aim for world-class performance. Ensures that the necessary certification requirements are met throughout the organization. Creates a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Mentors and coaches teams to achieve operational excellence and drive improved results. Leads programs and projects to improve and sustain local business performance.The work model for the role is: onsite.This role is contributing to the Electrification business area.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tDeploys and leads strategy and objectives for quality management & continuous improvement in line with the quality management system, quality policy and strategy, collaborating with operations and business leaders to implement improvement frameworks, and fostering commitment to continuous improvement.•\tInfluences and consults with management within the local ABB unit to innovatively shape the design and development of their functional area to improve the organization’s overall performance.•\tSupports the management to demonstrate leadership and commitment with respect to the quality management.•\tEnsures appropriate internal and external communication relevant to quality management.•\tImplements short, medium- and long-term strategy, activities, and plans to develop the quality management, based on identified risks and opportunities, in collaboration and agreement with the local management team.•\tEstablishes a closed-loop quality cycle from product development to customer experience feedback to ensure customer requirements and expectations are met.•\tExecutes an effective audit program to assess compliance with the defined system.•\tUses quality data analytics from the organization to identify risks, failures, and non-conformances.•\tWorks within ABB local organizational units/functions to prevent mistakes and defects in products and avoid problems when delivering solutions or services to customers.•\tDrives the vision for zero defects and establishes mechanisms to ensure that requirements from ABB, customers, and stakeholders are fulfilled, focusing on prevention rather than only control.•\tActs as a local process owner/sponsor for the assigned processes, systems, or tools, including defining and documenting plans, implementing and communicating actions, supervising and controlling progress, and driving continuous process improvement.•\tEnsures customer-focused quality management, achieving high effectiveness in terms of customer satisfaction and efficiency in cost management, including processes and tools to ensure flawless and repeatable process execution, identifying gaps, and exploring opportunities for improvement.•\tPartners with local functions to ensure voice-of-the-customer is represented at the local unit, professional quality management concepts are used to ensure the best possible product and process design quality, and that risks, problems, and solutions are evaluated from a customer/stakeholder point of view.•\tDrives resolution of customer cases to completion, following robust root cause analysis and implementing preventive and corrective actions.•\tLab management and testing capabilities/process/efficiency/quality improvement by safety priority•\tLeads software testing team to drive and deliver high quality of software from testing perspective•\tSupports and coordinates into Business Line China from Quality/CI function•\tAssists the organization in achieving desired strategic and operational results through the means of the quality management system.•\tEnsures quality-related systems and tools are effective in meeting customer and shareholder expectations.•\tEnsures benchmarking within the industry, inside and outside ABB, to continuously challenge the status quo and further develop the organizational self-perception.•\tDrives initiatives to improve on agreed aspects of quality in collaboration with local units and across multiple units or functions as applicable.•\tEnsures effective and efficient review of quality management system by local leadership to sustain its continuing suitability, adequacy, effectiveness, and alignment with the strategic direction of the organization and to identify opportunities for improvement.•\tIdentify and remove barriers to CI initiatives, lead and promote improvement programs for evaluating future improvement opportunities. Disseminate a continuous improvement culture and provide relevant training and guidance. plan and oversee the improvement projects to achieve CI target and its savings, ensure the use of appropriate tools, and drive external benchmarking for process enhancement.

Qualifications for the role

\tA bachelor's degree or above. Major in mechanical, electrical engineering, and other related fields are preferred\tWith more than 10 years of work experience in quality management and continuous improvement or other related operation functions, and more than 5 years of experience in managing teams. With work background in manufacturing industry, multinational enterprises, or related industries are preferred. Familiar with the whole-process quality control from product development to delivery\tRelevant professional qualification certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt/Green Belt, Certified Quality Manager (CQM), ISO 9001 Internal Auditor/Lead Auditor etc. are preferred, be familiar with various quality management system standards and industry certification requirements.\tPossess excellent strategic planning capabilities, and be able to effectively implement the quality strategy to drive the organization to achieve quality performance\tHave excellent cross-departmental collaboration and communication skills and be able to effectively coordinate various resources to promote the achievement of quality goals.\tHave a high sense of responsibility and customer service awareness, be able to withstand work pressure, and be adaptable to a certain frequency of business trips\tBe good at team building and management, and able to cultivate a high-performance team and positive culture.\tEnglish can be used as a working language.
