Chubb Personal Risk Services (PRS) is currently seeking an Associate Premier Underwriter to join our team in one of the following locations: Whitehouse Station, NJ, Chicago, IL, Kansas City, MO or San Diego, CA.
Position Description:
The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the underwriting center team by contributing to the achievement of business results for our most important clients including the use of underwriting judgment, delegated underwriting authority and support of Premier and Portfolio Underwriting partners. This individual must demonstrate the ability to effectively evaluate risk for approval including alignment with strategies, underwriting guidance, and published workflows & processes.
Position will require daily interaction with the Premier and Portfolio Underwriting Teams and Agent partners. This role will require successful execution of risk analysis, service timeliness, personal accountability, and teamwork. Successful individuals will demonstrate strong business competencies including personal accountability, risk analysis preparation & selection, application of customer focus and execution of effective process management.
The Premier Account Segment is comprised of accounts that generate at least $50,000 of annual personal insurance premium and the Associate Premier Underwriter (APU) is a vital part of the team’s success. This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in pursuing a career in underwriting. Successful applicants will be trained in the APU role but will not be assigned a specific book of business. The individual’s work will be across centers and will handle both portfolio and premier business as needed. It will include the opportunity to transition to a full time APU role in the future.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize delegated underwriting authority to approve and decline new & renewal risks using published guidelines, target market strategy, knowledge of filed contract language and pricing rules, loss control objectives and competitive landscape Evaluate and prepare business case, including recommendation, for referred new lines, endorsements, renewals, inspections, appraisals and suspense for next level of authority review Execute renewal review routines and table set accounts in collaboration with Underwriter to support retention and delivery of the most competitive quote terms Adhere to published workflows and processes Prioritize and manage work inbox and meet published service standards Partner effectively with Underwriters and Agents across the country and in various market segments Collaborate and contribute to assigned project teams Participate in training of less experienced team membersCompetencies:

Associate of Arts (A.A.) or Associate of Science (A.S.) preferredMinimum of 2 years of Associate Underwriting experience in PRS requiredThe pay range for the role is $62,200 to $105,800. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
