The Protection Officer Specialized - Product Investigations Unit (PIU) will be responsible for the application of investigation and information techniques in the interest of Anglo Platinum Operation in support of the objectives of the Product Investigation Unit in order to ensure that employees and assets are protected. Investigation and information gathering support and will be part of the activities of this role.
Personal risk is a factor in the role due to covert / overt / investigations and information gathering duties, (if applicable) criminal investigations.
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Continuously liaise with the Protection Services Manger PIU on investigation and information gathering activities.Ensure that safety and legal standards are adhered to in performing protection dutiesSecure and safeguard equipment issued / used for investigations / information gatheringEnsure that materials, resources and equipment are available and in working orderConducts inventory and ensure all assets are accountable for.Drive company vehicles effectively and safely and comply with standardsEnsure that the protection initiatives facilitate the need of the OperationCommunicate problems to Protection Services Manager PIUCompile accurate investigation / information gathering reportsMaintain applicable Safety, Regulations, Legislation, Codes of practice and standards applicable to PIUConduct and/or participate in required meetingsSupport the protection of assets in high risk situationsPrepare ad-hoc reports for management or other information customersComplete regular audits and observations requiredEnsure all reports are submittedEnsure that PIU administration requirements are complied withEnsure that investigation information is accurate and secureEnsures that all tasks and duties are done, as prescribed and in accordance with standard procedures and in a confidential mannerAct as a witness when called upon in criminal and disciplinary casesEffective liaison with PIU members and Law enforcement agenciesReview, translate and compiling source reportsIdentification of PGM syndicates that is a threat to the companyTranslation and scripting of video / audio recordingsAct as InterpreterQualificationsGrade 12Registered with the PSIRA on grade BValid driver’s licence code BExperience:
