Project Cost Analyst (m/f/d)
Job Description SummaryResponsible for project operations and programs support including standardization, quality management, document management, methods creation and maintenance, process improvement and tools for the project management function. Responsible for departmental operations planning/execution or is focused on execution of professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.
The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).

Job Description

The Project Cost Analyst (m/f/d) will be responsible for driving cross functional cost reviews from budget at handover through completion of a new unit project. The following activities will part of the responsibilities of the cost analyst on multiple projects in parallel:

Cost tracking

Development of cost execution plans (e.g., cost curves) by functionsRun weekly and monthly detailed cost reports by project scopeMonitor budget line items on weekly basis and identify variances above a threshold that should be escalated for mitigationMaintain budget version control to ensure agreed budget changes are updated in budget forecastWork with budget owners to estimate Cost to Complete based on actual costs, commitment costs, and potential variation ordersWork with scheduler to ensure project schedule aligned with cost curvesSupport Bill of Quantity (BOQ) quantity tracking tied to unit costs (vs budget and latest forecast)Work with business to prepare for PMR reviews on quarterly/bi-annual basisMonitor/track CTC spend/release - leading indicatorsProvide feedback to Sales/ITO/IPM on lessons learned for future bids/budgets - current gap

Minimize leakage and protect project margin

Run risk & opportunity analysisMonitor project risks and follow up on action plansConduct ad-hoc analyses on estimating headwinds cost implicationsIdentify root cause of cost overruns and suggest mitigation plansPartner cross functional to execute mitigation plans

Change order & Claim analysis support

Coordinate functional estimates for change order costTrack variance to budget of approved change orders (actual vs planned spend)

Process management & set up

Support creation & implementation of new cost controlling mechanism & structureExecute process improvement actionsIdentify operational rhythm and coordinate functional alignmentRequired QualificationsOnly candidates with experience in the following industries will be considered: Power/Energy, Utilities, Manufacturing, Construction)Bachelors degree in engineering, finance, or related technical major or equivalent experienceProven work experience in Cost Management, Project Management, Engineering or equivalent type experience / industryFluency in English is a Must
