The Position:
We are looking for an experienced Principal Software Engineer who will also act as a Scrum Master for their team. This individual will possess deep technical expertise, leadership qualities, and a passion for agile product development. They will drive technical excellence, mentor team members, and facilitate agile processes to ensure the team works effectively and achieves the best outcomes. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and coach a team
The Opportunity:
Act as a Principal Software Engineer, contributing to architectural design, code development, and technical leadership.
Serve as a Scrum Master for the team, coaching and empowering them to become self-organized and high-performing.
Help the team improve their ways of working, be efficient and effective, and work at a sustainable pace.
Increase collaboration, predictability, and transparency within the team.
Ensure continuous management of an active backlog, good practices in writing clear stories, and calculate and communicate team velocity.
Enable the team to make quick and sustainable decisions.
Organize and facilitate productive and effective meetings, agile ceremonies & workshops such as sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
Guide the team in identifying, tracking, and managing risks.
Maintain a healthy atmosphere and well-being within the team.
Promote a culture that embraces change and values experimentation and innovation.
Mentor development team members on Scrum principles, best practices, technical and personal growth.
Share knowledge and actively participate in the Agile Coaches Community of Practice.
Work with other Scrum Masters and stakeholders.
Collaborate with teams located in different geographies.
Who you are:
Extensive experience as a Software Engineer, with significant experience at a Principal level.
Proven track record of technical leadership and architectural design.
At least 2 years full-time experience as an Agile Coach/Scrum Master.
Experience with various methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, XP.
Great written and verbal communication skills in English.
Interpersonal, problem-solving skills, compelling storyboarding, presentation skills, and influencing abilities.
The ability to recognize and aid the resolution of team conflicts and impediments.
Tact, diplomacy, and cooperation skills.
An attentive and empathic nature.
