Paralegal
Stantec
We are currently seeking a Paralegal to join us in our Redditch office. We can offer you a welcoming environment to work in, a strong learning culture, and the opportunity to play an important role in our functional support teams that support talented engineers, planners and scientists across the globe.
You will join a close-knit, collaborative legal team providing critical support for Stantec internationally and within UK & Ireland. It’s an exciting time for our business as we seek to achieve our ambitious growth targets and diversify our portfolio of services.
You will be responsible for contracts review – assisting, supporting and participating in the review process of bespoke contracts with clients, sub-consultants and other suppliers. You will help with the identification of risks on contractual and legal matters and promote the contracts governance during the drafting, negotiation, execution and archiving of bespoke contracts.
You will negotiate terms and conditions on contracts in order to reduce company liability or cost. You will work closely with the contracts team and senior Counsel on more complex areas. You will review completed documents for final execution and manage all updates and modifications to contract documents.
You will assist with ancillary legal matters across our international business under the guidance of Senior Counsel.
Full training and support will be provided to help identity what Stantec looks for in its contracts with clients. We can also offer flexible and hybrid working options to help ensure you have a good work life balance.
**About You:**
Ideally you will have some legal or paralegal qualifications and/or experience, but this is not essential. You will have strong analytical and organisation skills, with keen attention to detail with an ability to spot errors. Some contracts or legal experience would be beneficial, but you will need to have a basic understanding of contracts and a level of comfort to review a high volume of documents.
You will have the ability to communicate with varying seniority levels, including staff, managers, and external partners. You will have a high degree of self-management, initiative, reliability and flexibility to ensure that the best possible service is given to internal and external clients. Your interest in developing yourself and your knowledge of contacts management will be key to your success.
_This is a hybrid role that requires office attendance 3 days per week. Due to the location and limited public transport in the area, you will ideally need to be able to drive to the office._
**Why Join us?**
The friendly and collaborative culture at Stantec is something we are proud of and we have many other reasons for you to be excited about joining us. We offer a competitive salary, a great pension scheme, free private medical insurance, support with your professional qualifications, hybrid and flexible working arrangements, industry leading training, great projects and lots more!
