Operations Margin & Collateral Analyst

As a Margin and Collateral Professional in the Margins team, you will serve as the day-to-day contact for internal partners to track aged margin calls and assist in resolution and escalations. This position requires an ownership mindset and the drive to critically assess information, identify issues and to establish lasting solutions in view of business priorities and Firm-wide objectives.  Our ideal candidate is resourceful and able to quickly adapt to changing circumstances while continuously learning, synthesizing and applying knowledge to solve the right problems at the right time in view of business objectives and the Firm’s culture and conduct standards.

 

Job Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point-of-contact for aged margin regulatory reporting across global F&O and OTC Margin teams Ensure all margin requirements are met in view of margin regulations, client and relationship level priorities and internal risk policies Manage MIS production in relation to margin calls Build and leverage relationships across Sales/RM, Compliance, Technology and Operations to solve Identify opportunities by synthesizing client behavior, margin balances, exceptions, and revenue data Develop analytic offerings by working on Alteryx platform for enhancements to operations Help to improve service offerings by leading and participating in cross functional initiatives (Regulatory, Strategic/Platform, Exchange/Product onboarding, client experience) Monitor developments in the cleared derivatives industry and communicate relevant points to management

 

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

Strong understanding of Derivatives Clearing business and end-to-end life cycle of Futures and Cleared OTC Swap products Strong communication skills and ability to develop relationships with external parties and internal stakeholders, Sales, Controls, Tech and Operations teams  Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to identify, understand, and address operational and technical issues Strong organizational skills Ability to multi-task and deliver against tight deadlines Ability to synthesize complex information for different audiences  Control mindset to identify process control gaps, prioritize, and mitigate operational risk Working knowledge or strong desire to learn data visualizations and analytics required (Alteryx, Tableau, etc)

Futures & Derivatives Clearing Operations supports Futures, Options and Cleared Swaps clearing functions including Reconciliations, Middle Office, F&O House Ops, Expiries & Deliveries, Settlement, Brokerage, Client On-boarding, Client Money, Regulatory Reporting, Static Data Management and Position Management. 

The Americas Client Services Margin team is responsible for client facing margin functions for J.P. Morgan’s extensive client base which includes Banks, Hedge Funds, Pension Funds, Insurance Companies, and Asset Managers. Partnering closely with Front Office, Technology and Operations, the group ensures that the highest of standards are met for the service delivered to clients.
