Merchant Services Business Development - Executive Director

Join the Merchant Services Business Development team! In this role, you will drive the end-to-end client experience. Many of our clients are moving into an embedded payment strategy for the first time and depend upon their Financial Institution to support that with expert counsel on best practices.

 

As an Executive Director within Business Development in Merchant Services, you will focus primarily on generating new business from prospective clients. You will work closely with an established team of Commercial Bankers and Treasury Sales teams within the Technology & Disruptive Commerce segment. This tech focused banking group will bring a widespread or client types spanning multiple different sub verticals (i.e. Software, Internet, Applied Tech, Climate Tech, Disruptive Commerce, and Payments)

Job Responsibilities 

Cultivates new business opportunities within the portfolio by aligning with the Banker and Treasury team to achieve individual sales goalsServes as a trusted advisor and client advocate, leveraging core knowledge, to recommend and promote banking and payment processing solutions to clients to ensure a seamless client experience across JP MorganCreate strategic dialogues around key client-centric issues, incorporating best practices, benchmarking, opportunity quantification and solution positioningBuild template-driven business case quantification for clients in support of payment solutionsCompletes analysis to competitively identify and price JP Morgan products and services for profitabilityDemonstrates ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with key decision-makers at a variety of levels (C-level executives) to evaluate needs, propose solutions from our suite of merchant services products Partner with internal product stakeholders when representing the client perspective in the development/evolution of complex products and solutions; works with internal partners to ensure successful implementation and product ramp-upProtects the firm by following sound risk management protocols and adhering to regulatory requirements. Works directly with Credit, Risk, and Quality Control to adhere to Anti-Money Laundering/Know Your Customer regulationsApply consultative influencing and selling to develop and execute strategies to deliver appropriate solutions across various stakeholders.  I.e. Finance, IT, Product, MarketingDrive complex contract renegotiationsMake recommendations on new products and services dependent on client input and general industry observations

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities

Possesses a minimum of 8+ years of related sales and relationship management experienceStrong knowledge of the merchant services industry, products and services with a strong technical acumenExcellent communication skills with individuals at all levels, internally and externallyProven ability to build relationships with clients and internal partners and influence others to achieve desired outcomesUses sound judgment to offer comprehensive and customized solutions that best meet client needs; able to identify and recommend appropriate alternatives when traditional solutions do not applyAbility to balance needs of clients with associated risks and interests of the firmDemonstrated ability to anticipate clients’ issues, own problems on clients’ behalf, and follow through with commitmentsHighly proficient in MS Office tools including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
