The Medical Enabler and Pipeline Strategy Lead is a dual role consisting of responsibilities focusing on the Medical Enabling function, accompanied with the accountabilities of strategic pipeline building and monitoring.

The Opportunity

You, as a Medical Enabler fulfill a global network focused role, which aims to enable Patient Journey Partner, Healthcare System Partners, Patient Access Enablers with knowledge, skillset, capability, connection that enables reaching the best possible patient outcome in the respective area of responsibility. The Medical Enabler’s Impact is provided through networked approach (network involvement even  up to 80% of total capacity), he/she joins into international projects and initiatives, works in squads but also above squads, across therapeutic areas and affiliates if needed. 

You, as a Pipeline Strategy Lead lead Roche strategic preparations for select priority pipeline products or new indications in the early planning phase of the product lifecycle including medical, commercial and market access preparations.The overall responsibility involves defining the strategic importance, business opportunity of the new asset, identifying the key strategic questions related to the new area, establishing internal and external understanding of our pipeline,, establishing meaningful relationships and bringing value with external stakeholders and integrating into the broader Roche community/network.
 

As a Medical Enabler

Providing balanced, evidence-based and up-to-date information about Roche medicinal products and services in response to unsolicited requests from healthcare professionals, patients and members of the public via  Medical Information inquiries

Handling and forwarding arising Adverse Events, Special Situations and/or Product Complaints received via MI channels to the relevant team and coordinating the controlling activities of medical communication of the  scientific organizational unit (Medical Value Center), directing medical content, supporting communication activities concerning medicines

Contributing to squad value with disease area expertise, understanding and training Roche and competitor data 

Focusing on sensing the environment in one or more therapeutic area(s),  gathering and sharing a holistic understanding of local healthcare ecosystem  and clinical practice 

Co-creating solutions with customers, translating our innovation to clinical  practice, bringing our internal capabilities and solutions to the healthcare  ecosystem

Organizing Advisory Board and Consultancy with HCPs 

Balancing field and office based activities, disseminating off-label scientific information through visiting HCPs in the country and support DA strategy 

Delivering medical support for partner functions (e.g. medical review of scientific  materials and texts, support of clinical trial operations, etc.)  

As a Pipeline Strategy Lead

Playing an instrumental role in driving medical activities to enable our pipeline products, such as cross-functional prelaunch planning, evidence generation activities and medical solutions to support our portfolio and gaining insights from Therapeutic Area Experts i.e. views on therapeutic choices, pipeline molecules, MoAs and treatment decisions, patient journey and evaluation of scientific data

Identifying needs of Patient Advocacy group engagement, payer evidence generation and therapeutic area expert landscaping

Providing scientific expertise such as advisory boards, medical education, scientific presentations to external audience, speaker briefings, by closely collaboration with other functions, and engaging with external stakeholders 

Validating, evaluating and presenting data for reimbursement dossiers 

Maintaining scientific and clinical expertise in assigned DA and the ecosystem around the patients, healthcare system including diagnostics and digital solutions 

Being responsible for identifying potential evidence gaps/needs in collaboration with the Patient Access Center, and prioritization within the DA team/Squad 

Being accountable for planning the transition of the new asset into the identified launch team/Squad as well as identifying the factors influencing the time of transition

Who are you: 

Medical Degree or equivalent (PhD/PharmD may be considered) with understanding of the local healthcare system and the role of multiple stakeholders within this including drug development, market access, medical and strategic aspects of all drug development stages

Knowledge of relevant therapeutic area, ability to dive deep in medical affairs, knowledge of drug discovery & commercialization processes, understanding and knowledge of the health ecosystem (Payers, Health Authorities, Patient Advocacy Groups, HCOs) 

Impactful customer communication, articulating value, bringing true insights back to the organization, good presentation skills and outstanding partnership skills and grasp of the overall business - previous track record includes identifying opportunities that have improved results in areas beyond direct management or influence

Internal drive to provide quality medical information, flexible in sharing knowledge, bringing peers and colleagues to the same level in case of forming new teams, squads (mentoring approach)  and purposeful mindset/approach (with strategic focus)  - ability to see the bigger picture, demonstrated strategic agility capable of assessing marketplace, product-specific and market data and translating this into meaningful, appropriate and executable plans; outstanding grasp of pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry and applies such to create robust and innovative business strategies, 

Project management skills - ability to manage and lead projects with an outcome based mindset, mastery in strategy development and execution/implementation, ability to maintain focus on a long term strategy while successfully adapting to changing environmental conditions, providing focus and direction to successfully navigate complexity and uncertainty

Good command of Hungarian and English language to join into international projects and initiatives is a must.
