You will be involved in all aspects of the product development cycle, from conceptual design, prototyping, development, product testing, and productization.
A Mechanical Engineer at T&M ensures that a design meets its technical specifications, business goals, and customer needs. You may design a variety of different projects and products, including assemblies, enclosures, internal parts, and accessories for test and measurement hardware.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Create/design/model/prototype electronics packaging solutions for NI products. Select and approve materials, components, and mechanical hardware. Conduct tolerance stack ups, thermal, and structural analysis of products. Create materials processing specifications for part manufacturing. Collaborate with a wide variety of NI R&D divisions Certify and support external vendors involved in product/part manufacturing. Conduct verification and validation testing for the product. Provide manufacturing support throughout production. Become a leading technical resource on electronics packaging technology.Who You Are: You are someone who works collaboratively in a group environment and demonstrates strong problem-solving skills. You take initiative, are resourceful, and can make progress on work independently. You take ownership of your goals, regularly check-in, and ask questions in a timely manner to ensure success and completion of projects and tasks.
For This Role, You Will Need: Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering Strong understanding of fundamental mechanical design principles and processes Knowledge in heat transfer, tolerance analysis, design of experiments, and electromechanical design. Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: Experience with 3D CAD software programs, Creo Parametric preferred. Metal and plastic materials processing techniques and design for manufacturability Exposure to Structural and Thermal FEA tools Strong work ethic and a drive to succeed Effective communication skills
