Job Summary:
Caterpillar’s Resource Industries Operations and Products (RIOP) Manufacturing Project Engineer position works both independently and as part of a team to improve manufacturing processes and systems. In addition, Manufacturing Project Engineers function as a future planner and subject matter expert for technical planning throughout the manufacturing facility.
What You Will Do:
Provide advanced technical guidance on major manufacturing projects, collaborating with internal teams and external suppliers to enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness.Oversee the implementation and coordination of major manufacturing systems, ensuring seamless integration with plant operations.Analyze and assess supplier product/process designs for feasibility and improvement, driving continuous enhancement initiatives.Mentor manufacturing engineers and operators, supporting the development of high-quality products and optimized processes.Develop detailed project plans with timing and resources identified to meet customer expectations.Adhere to established standards, policies and practices relating to People, Quality, Velocity, and Cost in performing transformation activities.Effectively communicate and track progress of Design for Assembly and Manufacturability improvements with the respective engineering design teams.Coordinate NPI build activities with the product group and the current manufacturing engineering team.Education requirement:

Manage large-scale projects: Oversee projects from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.Lead cross-functional teams: Coordinate efforts across engineering, operations, and supply chain.Ability to mention others in best practices for project and capital management.Judgment and Decision Making:
Seeks input from multiple cross-functions teams to gather various perspectives to develop a comprehensive enterprise solution.Ensures decisions satisfies the facilities short term and long-term strategic goals for People, Quality, Velocity, and Cost.Communicates decisions confidently and insures organizational buy in across engineering, operations, and supply chain.Manufacturing Process Design and Development:
Uses a data-based approach (ex: Factory Sim) to create various process alternatives for selecting the most optimal process design.Apply lean principles: Reduce waste and enhance process flow.Mentors other manufacturing engineers on the team to improve process designAdditional Information:

Summary Pay Range:
$110,520.00 - $165,840.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
