Florida Heat Pump Manufacturing, located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is a joint venture between Robert Bosch (BOSCH Group) and Carrier Corporation. FHP Manufacturing is a leader in the production of geothermal and water source heat pumps, providing some of the most efficient heating and cooling comfort solutions in the industry.

Job Description

Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of Production Associates in a make-to-order heat pump (HVAC) manufacturing environment. Carries out supervisory tasks in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; ­ Associate relations and recognitions; problem solving and continuous improvements.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Leads to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining product qualityOversees the accomplishment of assigned tasks across all work stationsWill ensure daily production targets are achieved and will report target deviationsEnforces conformance to specifications and compliance to work instructions for setup adjustments of machines, or start of shift first-piece inspectionsConfers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments/targetsImplements work instruction changes and trains staff to new standardized workAnalyzes and resolves work problems, or assists Associates in solving work problemsLeads and/or participates in GEMBA walks and drives Continuous Improvements (CI)Develops close working relationship with all Associates and gains/builds trustResponsible for safety, quality, delivery, and costs within their shiftFills out safety incident reports and performs preliminary investigationsDirects finished goods to pack-line and product warehouse put-awaySupports new product introductions.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree5+ years of Manufacturing experience5+ years of Leadership experience from the Manufacturing Industry3+ years of experience with Microsoft products (i.e. Excel, Outlook, Word, Visio, Power Point, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree and 3+ years prior Manufacturing experience (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Ergonomics)Ability to work and make decisions independentlyStrong analytical skills, and solid problem-solving abilities (i.e. 8Ds and/or PSS projects)Strong interpersonal skills and able to communicate effectively across all levelsExperience with Lean & working within a Lean Enterprise organizationMust be able to manage multiple simultaneous prioritiesProduction control and/or inventory managementQuality Assurance and/or ControlSupply chain and/or planningDesign for manufacturing experienceSix Sigma CertifiedPrior Value stream mapping knowledge and/or VS Designs -ideally using MS VisioFamiliarity of PFMEA and Control Plans, ISO Standards

Additional Information

Work Location: Initial training will be conducted onsite to support a successful onboarding experience. Upon completion of training, this role offers the flexibility to work remotely.

Salary Range: The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $76,000 - $100,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc.
