About LPSD

We design and manufacture Cat C27, C32, 3400, 3500, C175, 3600 and C280 platforms; Perkins 4000 series and 5000 series platforms and MWM gas engine platforms, drivetrains and engine system components.

Through our global organization, we design and manufacture the most comprehensive lineup of large diesel and natural gas engines in the industry, as well as engine components and powertrains. The large engine product portfolio includes Cat, Perkins and MWM branded products. Applications include Cat machines, electric power generation, marine, oil & gas, industrial and locomotive. 

Role Definition:

Provides support and guidance on all aspects of production, costs, quality, compliance to safety guidelines, and environmental requirements for manufacturing. Develop improvement projects to resolve quality issues of our products and increase efficiency of our casting process.

Responsibilities:

Participating in identifying and implementing enhancements and modifications to equipment and processes.Monitoring equipment and process reliability; identifying and addressing problem areas.Analyzing engineering change notices, determines any part or process change, initiates and implements all changes.Providing engineering support on planning, development, operation, and maintenance of equipment, processes, or facilities.

Requirements:

Decision Making and Critical Thinking (extensive experience): Analyze situations and make informed decisions using various tools and techniques. Differentiate assumptions, evaluate past decisions, validate options, advise others, use different decision-making approaches, and ensure assumptions are objectively analyzed.Judgment and Decision Making (working knowledge): Evaluate business situations and choose the best path forward. Distinguish important information from noise, prioritize tasks, stand by your decisions, transition from evaluation to conclusion quickly, and revisit decisions, when necessary, without losing focus.Manufacturing Processes (extensive experience): Manage the entire manufacturing process using industry benchmarks and best practices. Advise others, develop documentation, train on major tasks, measure new processes, optimize methodologies, and evaluate alternative processes and technologies.Problem Management Process - MFG (working knowledge): You’re adept at using a disciplined approach to resolve manufacturing problems. You can record common problems and solutions, monitor resolutions, provide feedback, handle non-standard issues, and use problem reporting and tracking software.

Top Candidates will also have:

Degree in Metallurgical or Material EngineeringCasting Foundry Processes: Experience with casting foundry processes such as molding, melting, ceramic beads, and core making. Familiarity with tooling usage in these processes.PowerBI: Proficiency in using PowerBI for data analysis and visualization to gain insights and support decision-making processes.6Sigma and MiniTab: Knowledge and experience with 6Sigma methodologies and using MiniTab for statistical analysis and process improvement.Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Strong skills in troubleshooting technical issues and problem-solving, particularly in a manufacturing environment.

Summary Pay Range:

$87,480.00 - $131,280.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
