As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and community banking technology team, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team’s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.

Job responsibilities

Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activitiesSets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaborationAnticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirementsManages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirementsCreates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceHands-on experience with Java, J2EE, REST APIs, Web Services, and building event-driven Microservices.Experience with provisioning resources using tools such as Terraform.Proficiency in containerization technologies and orchestration platforms, including Docker, Kubernetes, and ECS.Interest in shift-left testing practices.Experience with or willingness to learn CI/CD practices.Experience leading technology projects and managing technologistsProficient in automation and continuous delivery methodsAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityExperience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines

Experience with Spinnaker is preferredExperience with Lambda using Python is preferredExposure to data modeling and database design, as well as observability and monitoring configuration using Splunk/CloudWatch.
