Our Dawson operation is a large open-cut coal mine and is showing no signs of slowing down! Dawson’s mining process is completed by varied fleets of which this role focuses on the Heavy Mobile Equipment fleet.

It’s not just the interesting large pieces of equipment that you would be working on in the HME workshop, it’s also the placement of Dawson, it is located at the southern end of the Bowen Basin in Central Queensland, being just over a 2hrs drive west from either Rockhampton or Gladstone, or 4.5hrs drive north of the Darling Downs or South Burnett.

Job Description

Dawson Mine has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join the HME Workshop Maintenance team on a permanent basis, based in Moura, QLD. This role will have you oversee a range of equipment such as Electric Drive Haul Trucks, Dozers, Graders, Watercarts and the Wheel Loader Fleet, whilst working within the site’s work management process to deliver safe and on-time maintenance.  

The Maintenance Supervisor’s key responsibilities are, but not limited to:

Lead a team of mixed trades’ people, comprising of employees, embedded and contractors to complete quality work per the maintenance schedule.Develop a culture focused on safety and efficiency that will be able to deliver optimal business results.Support effective resource allocation (people, equipment, and resources) to meet maintenance work schedules.Provide support and advice to the Maintenance team on ways to optimise equipment reliability and availability.Work with operations and process team to address daily operational issues.Focus on identifying long term process improvement opportunities and delivery of projects to achieve outcomes.Carry out all work safely and in accordance with correct operating procedures.Operate in a way that protects and promotes the reputation of the organisation.Complete all tasks and duties as reasonably requested by the leader and key stakeholders in a safe manner and in alignment with Anglo’s values.Proactively build and maintain positive working relationships through teamwork and mutual respect.Be actively involved in the team process, contributing critically to the planning and implementation of work.

QualificationsMechanical Trade Qualification (Diesel Fitting, Boilermaking or Auto Electrical Trade).Hold the Supervisor & Risk Facilitator competencies (S1, 2, 3 & G2).Proven experience maintaining HME mine site equipment including Loaders, Dozers, Graders, Trucks.A strong understanding of open cut mining equipment and mining technique.A desire to continually work at being an effective supervisor and leader.Knowledge of SAP and Project Management tools is highly desirable.
