Dawson Mine is a large and dynamic open cut steelmaking coal mine operation made up of two operating pits - Central and South. It commenced operations in 1961 and is one of the oldest coal mining operations in Central Queensland with no signs of slowing down. Dawson Mine is rich in history, it was the first mine in Australia to export coal to Japan in 1961 and was the first mine to introduce draglines into its operation in 1963 – join the legacy today!
Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to assist the Maintenance team with developing mechanical maintenance strategies, arranging weekly down days and managing secondary work.
With interactions across various departments, you will require solid written and verbal communication skills, enjoy solving maintenance problems and be an effective team player.
To be successful in this role you will ensure compliance with all safety and operating systems and a commitment to working together as part of a capable, friendly and professional team to achieve business objectives. You will also enjoy the challenge of maintaining an array of different mining fleets (Graders / Loaders / Wheel Dozers / Mechanical & Electrical Drive Trucks). Reviewing and implementing preventative maintenance and managing small projects.
