Litigation Paralegal
**About the Role** The candidate will assist the team in defending and prosecuting a wide range of litigation matters, ranging from demand letters and subpoenas to some of the largest and most cutting edge litigation matters in the country. Responsibilities will include responding to third party subpoenas, investigating claims and demands, appearing in small claims court, negotiating settlements, and identifying and gathering facts/documents/witnesses. **What You'll Do** - Investigate claims asserted by riders, drivers, and others - negotiate directly with claimants and attorneys regarding demands, settlement agreement terms, and subpoena productions - Appear in small claims court - Assist in fact gathering, witness interviews, and organizing and producing documents - Respond to third party subpoenas **Basic Qualifications** - Minimum of four (4) years of litigation experience at a large firm, in-house legal department, or federal/state government agency - B.A./B.S. or equivalent professional experience - Fact gathering; document review; investigations; third party subpoena responses; negotiating settlement; analysis; organization **Preferred Qualifications** - Paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited school preferred - Confidence and flexibility to operate in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment - Skilled oral and written communicator - Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate well and build consensus with internal business leaders and legal groups - Team player attitude, appreciating the importance of tasks big and small, with a willingness to take initiative and think two steps ahead - Passionate about your work with a desire to have a big impact - Technical know-how with a working knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and other web-based applications - Embody the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and accountability - Enthusiastic about Uber! For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base hourly rate range for this role is USD$40.87 per hour - USD$45.44 per hour. For New York, NY-based roles: The base hourly rate range for this role is USD$45.44 per hour - USD$50.61 per hour. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base hourly rate range for this role is USD$45.44 per hour - USD$50.61 per hour. For Washington, DC-based roles: The base hourly rate range for this role is USD$45.44 per hour - USD$50.61 per hour. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
