As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Payments Technology, you'll join our Performance Engineering team, where you can elevate your career in software testing. We're seeking a seasoned professional with 8+ years of experience in performance testing, engineering, and optimization. Your expertise in identifying bottlenecks, crafting test strategies, and enhancing system performance is crucial. This role requires a proactive team player who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure our systems meet top performance and reliability standards.

Job responsibilities:

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering* concepts and 5+ years applied experience Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability Strong backend programming experience in Java/Go, Python and Shell Scripting Extensive experience in performance engineering, performance testing, or a related field. Proficiency in performance testing tools such as JMeter, BlazeMeter, K6 and Gatling. Experience with monitoring tools like Dynatrace or AppDynamics. And, familiarity with Splunk for log analysis and monitorin Proficiency in Java and Java Spring Boot and Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration. Deep understanding of Developer Workflows and CI/CD process Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS/Azure/Google Cloud) is a plus
