Lead Software Engineer / Oracle / Human Resources

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Enterprise Technology Employee Platforms, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

 

Job responsibilities

Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersLeads and maintains business processes (e.g. configuration documents, JIRA practices, SR tracking, etc.)Leads functional testing of the enhancements (reducing / minimizing defects)Reviews Oracle release notes in advance and conducts impact analysisEnsures security and release processes are followed to reduce riskProduces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code developmentGathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systemsIdentifies (Proactively) hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architectureMaintains system training and knowledge to ensure design is optimal, holistic, and thoroughIdentifies and applies lessons learned and acquired knowledge to limit production defects

 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityAdvanced in one or more programming language(s)Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodsProficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleDemonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systemsPractical cloud native experienceExperience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languagesStrong experience with Oracle Core Human Resources Modules (HCM, OTBI and HDL/HSDL)Leadership experience
