Lead Materials Analysis Engineer
Job Description SummaryMPE Center of Excellence in GE Vernova Engineering Innovation Center (Warsaw/Poland) looks for an Engineer with proven experience in area of manufacturing of Gas Turbine combustor components. Primary focus of this role will be on manufacturing of combustor chambers with possible extension to other components of gas turbines
The tasks you will be responsible for are providing guidance on metallurgy, joining, support of production processes and customer support, improvement of existing products, supporting Root Cause Analyzes by Failure Analysis, of combustor components. In this role you will work in global team and be responsible for assignments with of varying complexity.
This is hybrid position with office and laboratory located in GE Vernova EIC Warsaw/Poland.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Materials engineering with respect to processes and products focused on Gas Turbine combustor partsProvide metallurgical support for Mechanical Design team, Supply Chain (mainly European); define quality requirements based on internal specifications and industrial standardsDisposition of material substitutions and deviationsEffectively document results and present them in formal and informal meetings, document technical data generatedResponsibility for a given gas turbine component in material terms, material analyses, inspections, manufacturing processes control and support, solving problems, adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.Participation in the continuous improvement of parts as well as the design/manufacturing process.Leveraging in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute business strategy.Formulating and implementing plans to achieve technical requirements, prepare schedules, coordinate and supervise teams providing sub-analyses.Recommending approach to meet the technical and program requirements.Independently determining the scope of work to be performed or planning the scope of activities in the assigned area, monitoring and effectively communicating projects status, issues and significant developments.Using multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.Understanding the impact of the work performed on the company's goals.Developing practical and innovative ways to define and achieve short- and long-term goals.


Required Qualifications

Must be independent engineer that executes with minimum guidanceMSc Metallurgy, Material Science or equivalentThis role requires advanced experience in the Engineering/Materials Technology in areas of joining (welding, brazing) and heat treatmentProven technical and problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneouslyExperience in industrial environment working on or supporting manufacturing of Gas Turbine componentsDemonstrated English language written and verbal communication skills including technical EnglishFluent level of written and spoken English language
