**Position Summary**
CVS Health is seeking a Lead Director, Public Affairs to join our team in Washington, DC. This position will play a critical role in shaping and executing the company’s public affairs strategy by developing impactful messaging and advocacy content for various audiences, including colleagues, clients, stakeholders, and policymakers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public affairs, excellent organizational, communication and writing skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholder and external consultants.
**Key Responsibilities:**
Support the design and implementation of comprehensive public affairs initiatives aligned with key enterprise priorities, including strategic planning, setting trackable and credible goals, tactical execution, content development, and reporting.
+ Support advocacy activity at the federal and state level.
+ Develop public affairs messaging and content for advocacy, media, client engagement, and internal stakeholders.
+ Effectively project manage multi-stage, long-term initiatives inclusive of strategy, messaging, content and creative.
+ Direct the activities of external consultants on engagement initiatives, ensuring alignment with CVS Health’s public affairs strategy.
+ Coordinate closely with advocacy and policy partners to align initiatives with government affairs objectives and monitor real-time political and policy developments.
+ Coordinate strategy with allied organizations as assigned who support our industry as directed.
+ Work closely with department leadership and colleagues to manage budgets, contracts, and reporting related to public affairs initiatives.
**Required Qualifications**
+ At least 10 years of experience working in public affairs, public policy communications, political campaigns, public relations, public policy, the U.S. Congress or Administration, or other related experience.
**Preferred Qualifications**
Expertise in health care public policy issues, advocacy communications, political campaigns, or the regulatory environment preferredons
**Education**
Bachelor's Degree or higher required.
**Pay Range**
The typical pay range for this role is:
$144,200.00 - $288,400.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
