Job Description

Laboratory Responsibilities

Maintaining laboratory supplies, reagent inventory, and preparation of mediaSafe handling and movement of compressed gases and/or cryogenic liquids. Cleaning and monitoring of controlled temperature units, fume hoods, and biological safety cabinets (BSC)Use of electronic management and tracking systems for monitoring and documenting routine maintenance and calibration status of laboratory equipment.Use of electronic systems to initiate and coordinate workflows between multiple teams/departmentsManagement of paper lab notebook and logbook requests, updates, and reconciliationAssists in the coordination and execution of recurring equipment maintenance and calibrations. Participates in the overtime and weekend schedule as required.Cleaning, organization, and labeling of lab spaces in accordance with effective procedures.Complete all safety and procedural trainings and re-trainings.Complete tasks listed above in laboratory areas that handle potent chemical compounds.

Leadership Responsibilities

General personnel management.Manages and coordinates the workload of the team.Monitors and reports all productivity and quality metrics.Completes routine laboratory safety walkthroughs and employee compliance checks.Participate in the hiring process and onboarding/training of new hires.Delivers training for new hires and other employees in the department.Participates in overtime and weekend scheduling as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Life Sciences or equivalent.1 year of leadership experienceStrong computer and organizational skills.Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.A strong work ethic and ability to meet physical demands, including, but not limited to, routinely lifting objects of 25 lbs. or more, walking and standing for extended periods, pushing or pulling carts and equipment, and bending down or reaching for supplies. Knowledge of cGMP.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.Ability to learn new processes, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.

Additional Details: 

The work schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8am - 4pm with overtime as needed. Candidates living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, New York, are encouraged to apply.
