As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Risk Technology, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

 

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respectLead the design and implementation of distributed micro-services using Java, Spring Boot and AWSTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges in production environments, ensuring system reliability and performanceProvide guidance to a team of software engineers on daily tasks and activitiesMentor and develop junior engineers, helping them grow their technical skills and career pathsIdentify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stabilityManage stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements and business requirements

 

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

 

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceProficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodsProficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityIn-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systemsExperience with AWS Cloud8+ years of applied experience with a focus on Java and Spring Boot.Proven track record of leading teams in building and deploying distributed micro-services architecturesStrong understanding of RESTful APIs, web services, and integration patternsExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsStrong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail      Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Modern emerging technologiesFamiliarity with modern full stack technologies.Exposure to relational and non-relational databases such as Oracle and RedisExperience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like ECS or kubernetesKnowledgeable on DevOps
