Role Purpose:

The role leads the LatAm Claims organization across all Lines of Business.  The primary purpose of this role is to support the development and execution of Everest’s business strategy through the creation and delivery of Claims solutions, capabilities, and services. The role holder is a member of the Global Claims Executive team and and partners closely with the Head of LatAm Insurance, senior underwriters and country leadership


Key Accountabilities:

Strategic
 

Leadership of Claims within LatAmProvision of claims management services within LatAm.Develop and execute strategies to ensure that the LatAm Claims function meets business targets and plansContribute to the development of Global Claims StrategyPersonal oversight of large and complex losses and systemic claims issuesPartner with Regional and Product leadership to ensure effective communication and integration of Claims capabilities and insights to drive business plans and outcomesLead, build and manage Claims teams which will enhance the delivery of strategic goalsMarket facing role, promoting Everest brand and capabilities within LatAmBusiness development and execution of annual business planningProvide services and Claims solutions to support client’s most complex risks and challengesBroker and customer relationship management for LatAm to support the retention and acquisition of business

Operational

Provide management and oversight of LatAm Claims working closely with the Global Head of Claims and central Claims support functionsEnsure that team performance meets or exceeds corporate standards and customer needsEnsure the capture, creation and analysis of data to ensure that claims performance and trends are understood and effectively communicated to all stakeholdersEffective management of expenses to ensure that Everest maintains its competitive advantageCreation of annual Claims budget and forecast based on claim forecasts and staffing modelsMonitor, report, and analyse Claims performance against plan / budget / forecastCarry out Claim Quality Assurance processes as necessary to ensure policies and procedures are being followedManage the performance of TPAs and panel service providers and ensure that an audit strategy is in place and executed for service providersEnsure all claims handlers are operating within their authoritiesEnsure compliance with policies, procedures and controls to meet all regulatory and corporate governance requirements, whether internal or external

People

Build and develop a team which can deliver strategic goals outlined either above or by executive managementAlign, empower, and influence others through ideas, encouragement, and insightGoal setting, performance evaluation and management of direct reportsEvaluation of training needsRemuneration recommendationsKeep leadership and HR apprised of any HR issues that arise, including any disciplinary actions that may be necessary


Skills & Abilities

A highly credible Claims leaderExperience of building and executing strategic plans to develop a Claims organizationExtensive knowledge and experience in managing claims portfolios across multiple lines of businessExceptional oral and written communication, with the ability to provide concise executive summaries to senior managementHighly collaborative and able to work effectively across the organisation as well as with external stakeholdersAbility to adapt and embrace change, solutions drivenTenacity and decisiveness, with the courage to take risksStrong interpersonal skills and demonstrates respect for the opinions of others


Professional qualifications and experience:

A degree educated professional, preferably with Insurance or other qualifications relevant to the role.Demonstrable experience in commercial and specialty claims of multiple classes within LatAmDemonstrable experience in progressive and innovative Claim solutionsExtensive knowledge and experience in managing and building Claims teams and competencies across multiple product lines
