Firmwide Resiliency Office Controls, Senior Associate

Our professionals in Corporate Functions cover a diverse range of areas and are an essential part of our company, ensuring that we’re setting our businesses, clients, customers, and employees up for success.  The Firmwide Resiliency Office (FRO) is accountable for the maintenance of the Resiliency Framework which establishes the Firm’s approach and methodology to govern, identify, measure, monitor and test, manage and report on Firmwide Resiliency risk for all JPMC Activities. The Firm operates a federated model with the LOBs and Corporate Functions responsible for the implementation and subsequent execution against aligned resiliency related frameworks, as determined by the Resiliency Policy – Firmwide.  Considering the complex and constantly evolving threat landscape, continuing to plan for, test and exercise, and improve our resiliency capabilities is integral to safeguarding the Firm and our customers, clients, and communities globally.

As a Senior Associate in FRO Control Management (FRO Controls) you will be responsible for maintaining a strong and consistent control environment within FRO. Partnering with the Firm’s Leadership, you will promote early operational risk identification and assessment, effective design and evaluations of controls and sustainable solutions to mitigate operational risk as well as support end-to-end issue management. You will be uniquely positioned in the organization to engage Resiliency Control Managers across all LOBs and Corporate Functions, providing subject matter expertise on resiliency risk management, control practices and associated assessment that also includes resiliency domains associated with assets such as Technology, Third Party, Sites etc. 

Job responsibilities

Evaluate and perform an end-to-end analysis of the Function’s risk and control environment to identify significant gaps and weaknesses and determine root cause of control breaks Ensure that controls are properly designed and operating effectively  Maintain a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols Engage proactively with stakeholders to self-identify control breaks Perform end-to-end issue management, inclusive of developing action plans, monitor and facilitate timely completion and ensure adequate issue remediation Review and analyze program related data (e.g., KRI/KPI) to support firmwide resiliency risk management Participate in end-to-end process walkthroughs and deep dives to support risk and control assessments across resiliency risks, inclusive of resiliency risks related to technology, third party, sites, and other asset domains Promote and facilitate focused discussion of the representation, reporting, and assessment of the firm’s resiliency risk and control environment amongst the Resiliency Risk Stripe Community

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required 6+ years of experience in financial services industry with background in controls, audit, quality assurance, operational risk management, or compliance; or equivalent subject matter expertise in Business Resiliency related function Well-organized with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and bring tasks to completion within established timeframes Have a collaborative style, be flexible, and have an ability to partner with other team members across global time zones Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to convey complex ideas simply Excellent relationship building and influencing skills Energetic, self-motivated, and effective under pressure - must enjoy the challenge of working within a fast-paced, changing, and dynamic working environment Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Proficient knowledge of control and risk management concepts with the ability to design, create and evaluate a Control & Operational Risk Evaluation in conjunction with business partners Familiarity with Operational Resiliency and Incident & Crisis Management preferred

Candidates must be able to physically work in our offices full-time (5 days). The specific details and timing will be determined and communicated by direct management.
